Well this is my 3rd CC story, I had two one was a funny, quick one shot called "Why me" and the other which I deleted was my first try at a more serious story. I deleted it because I didn't like it, and so this story takes place right after the scene where rosette and Chrono were discovered and is kinda of a prologue. So I hope you enjoy, and please leave comments if you want.

And Chrono crusade does not belong to me but all original characters and ideas do belong to me.

Doves

The sunset, the last thing they both saw before closing their eyes for the final time. After Aion's apparent downfall and the rescue of Rosette, Chrono had whisked her to the quiet country side. For some time they had stayed at a small cabin only going into town for supplies. Though they knew what fate lied ahead of them. They were happy to be in each other's company, happy to be together.

She felt happy despite her fate, that for the final moments she could be with him. But she was scared of what was to come, and saddened by what she would miss. But right at that moment when she was in his arms, none of that mattered. Because she was with him.

He felt glad that he was able to save her from a horrendous foe, but despaired at the fact this was their last day. He held her as she cried, calming her and reassuring her. He felt so at peace, so happy because he was with her.

Chrono and Rosette sat out on the patio overlooking the beautiful sunset. They clasped each other's hands waiting for the inevitable both were scared but they also felt peace.

The clock kept ticking as the sun went down.

The watch around her neck then faded as the sun went down completely. And darkness settled all around.

……

….

…"coo" a sound broke the silent darkness and a single white object flew through the darkness.

Rosette's eyes fluttered and twitched as she was awakened by crying. "Mmmm oh" she moaned as she awoke from her sleep.

"r…rosette?" Azmaria said though tears

"W…why are you crying?"

Then a group of happy people clamored around Rosette, all of them joyful and amazed that rosette had awakened.

"Rosette you're awake!" sisters Anna, Mary, Claire all said simultaneously

"we thought you had passed on!!!" Azmaria exclaimed happily

As everyone kept saying words of happiness Azmaria noticed that though Rosette had awoken, Chrono hadn't moved at all

"CC…Chrono" Azmaria said timidly worried that he wouldn't wake up

Rosette moved closer, her eyes glazed with tears as she noticed Chrono's silence.

"ZZZZZZZ" Chrono went as everyone cocked an eye

Rosette took her hand and lightly slapped Chrono "HUH!!!" Chrono said as his eyes shot open and as he jumped like a startled cat.

A few moments later…

After everyone finished fawning over Rosette and Chrono, who had miraculously reawakened. Rosette went off by herself, she looked at the watch and then at the sky. "hey Rosette" Chrono said as he took his place next to her. "Chrono…"

"yeah"

"thank you, for everything"

"I'll always be by your side" Chrono said as he pulled her close

"Coo" a small sound broke the silence

"hey look a dove" Rosette said looking at the snow white bird

"hmm, ya don't see them around this part of the country" Chrono replied

Rosette smiled and craned her head onto Chrono's; they had been given a second chance.
