How will I die?
At the beginning,
So little time to compete?
Towards the end,
With so much at stake?
Due to thirst of hunger,
Storms, floods, animals?
Struggling to survive,
Wandering around, delirious with death?
At the hands of my friend,
Who is like I, trying to avoid death?
There are twenty-four of us,
Brought to these games,
Everyone shares the same fate.
But will I be the champion?
I fear not.
Others are stronger, quicker, braver.
I lack the skills I need.
The Hunger Games have begun.
Death, I accept you.
