Laura Barton sat in front of the television anxiously, holding baby Nathaniel and twisting her wedding band nervously on her finger. She needed Clint to be okay. She couldn't lose him, especially at the hands of one of his former teammates. That would be too much for her to handle.

Lila and Cooper kept asking when Dad was coming home. Laura answered them honestly. "I'm not sure. But he'll be back."

Of course she was sure. Clint was coming home, one way or another. She hoped we th all her heart he walked through the front door with a smile on his face and a pizza box in hand, calling for them and saying that he'd picked up dinner, but she was equally prepared for the other option.

It would break her heart, but she was prepared. She had to be. She was married to a superhero, and after seeing so many battles, you knew that not everyone came home from them. After Sokovia, and Quicksilver, Laura got even more anxious every time Clint picked up his bow and said goodbye to the kids. She was worried that one day, he'd leave and he wouldn't come back.

She desperately hoped today would not be that day.
