A Beautifully Painful Retrospect

Memories are hard. If you think of one, in comes another, and another. They just keep flowing into your mind until you can no longer take it. Bad things can end up happening to you or anyone else. And what's even worse is when they're bad memories. Memories that scar you for life and you can never shake them out of your head. Memories that don't just affect you, but affect everyone around you, causing them to feel the pain that you feel. That's why they tried to rid me of those memories, but those trying to do just that put an even more painful retrospect on my life.

They carried me down the hallway nonchalantly, seeming as if they had done this a million times before, because they had. Then, I didn't have the strength that I do now. So I was using every bit of my little strength to kick them, punch them, even bite the evil people in the pale white lab coats.

I was screaming at the top of my lungs, hoping and praying that one decent minded person would come along and take me away from this horrible place. But no one ever came and save me. One opened the door to a large white examination room. He roughly tossed me into a small cage, one cage of a hundred. I remember everything looking so big to me, for I was so little. I looked around and what I saw shocked and horrified me. Dozens of faces, ugly and mutated stared back at me, wore the same expression as me.

One of them, it had many eyes and fangs of some sort, was pulled out of its cage and laid on some type of board. Its shriek was ear piercing and its eyes were bulging out of its head. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, but I couldn't look away.

More and more of them came in, the frightened look in their eyes heartbreaking. Soon two boys came in, both of them scrawny and scared. One had jet-black hair and the other a strawberry blonde. They were both very pale, and they looked like they were shaking. I will never forget the looks on their faces when the scientists looked us over. To them, we weren't living human beings. We were just things to them, something to experiment on.

They carried us away the same way they carried the one creature away. We were laid side by side on three separate boards. They shot anesthetics and other medicines through our veins. I don't know what did it but we all slowly drifted into an unconscious sleep. The last thing I grabbed a hold of before blacked out was the word that changed my life forever.

"…wings."

A/N: So? I know it's short but I'll update very frequently. PLEASE REVIEW and tell me what you think.
