It had been months since Helena had walked out of her front door after a stifling dinner. Hunnigan had been harsh but it was the only way she knew how to be, especially with people that she cared for. In all honesty, she had wanted to be harsher with Helena, shake her. Grab her by her shoulders and shake her back and forth until she snapped out of it. She was masochistically selfish. Starving herself, hurting herself. It was painful. She had to save Helena, but that was out of her reach. Helena had to save herself, but Hunnigan wasn't powerless.
Hannah had to be addressed. Her ex-husband. A man that she had loved once but now grew furious with. The flight had given her time to think and to stew. Jayden Hannah would pay for what he did. She stood now, at the back of the small meeting room. Her back was as close to the wall as she could manage it, arms crossed and eyes unfocused as she waited for Hannah to be escorted into the room.
The buzzer on the door sounded, in he walked. No chains, no cuffs, not even a uniform. He wore one of his favorite suits. A grey three-piece, pale, blue tie. It was a suit she had bought for him years ago, but it looked almost new. He wore a grin on his wide jaw, his silver-framed glasses glinting under the lights. He had grey hairs tinting his temples, he was aging, though it was graceful even if she hated to admit it. He was still good-looking, dark hair and tan skin. His hands were in his pockets, he pulled them out and motioned to her.
"Ingrid, you look stunning." She noticed he wore the watch she got him for their first anniversary. Her figure remained still, refusing to speak to him. On the small table was a laptop that the prison had lent to her. The top was down, he looked over at it. "Having a little computer problems?" His voice was the most that had changed over the years. It was raspy now, it broke on sharp consonants.
Hunnigan took a few short steps across the room and lifted the lid. On the screen was a list of all the emails she had taken from Helena's inbox, along with the list of IP addresses and GPS locations. She hit a key and brought up the internet logs from the prison, all the correlating timestamps flashed, highlights that she had caught him.
"What is this?" He asked, his face still baring a heart-stopping grin. She hated that he still had an effect on her pulse.
"Don't play dumb with me, Jayden." Her words filtered through her clenched jaw. "Do not contact me or my fiancee again or I swear to god you will regret it."
"Threats don't do much to a man already locked up for life." He chimed as she turned away from him, making her way toward the door. "Besides, I didn't tell her anything that wasn't true. Not my fault that you picked such a dim bulb this time." He laughed a bit as she stopped her movement. "Must make you feel like the smartest woman in the world to be with such a laymen."
She turned to him.
"You know nothing of her. She is the strongest, bravest and most amazing women I have ever met. I love her more than anything in the world." His smile dropped at that. "You contact her again and you will regret it." She towered over him, her rage writ across her face.
Hunnigan left the prison, all the evidence left with the warden. She knew he would be stripped of many of his favorite items and freedoms. Along in her search as to what all he sent to Helena, she found out that he was still in contact with a merc hired by Neo-Umbrella. There was enough to draw the conclusion that he had the intention to hire the merc and send him after Helena or Hunnigan if his first plan had not worked. He would pay for what he had done.
