Rory's POV:
"Rory, let's go!" I slung my jacket over my shoulders. After I checked myself one more time in the mirror, I zipped the jacket up and walked out of my bedroom.
"Lane, chill. I'm done." I said, turning to my mom. My mom, who was sitting at our kitchen table, gasped.
"Hun, you look beautiful!" She cried and I could feel me start to blush. I bent over and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and a small hug.
"I'll see you when you get home!" I exclaimed as I closed the door and started walking with Lane. We were walking down to the square where all the teens of Stars Hallow were having a party, with no supervision. All the parents had agreed to this, thinking no one could get in trouble with Luke keeping a watchful eye over it from his diner.
"I'm so excited! I can't believe my mom agreed to it, seeing as I can't even listen to my own taste of music at my house." Lane smiled and jumped up and down, clearly excited. I smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, cause you have to hide all your cd's under a floor board." Lane gave me a dirty look. A few minutes later, we arrived and found the square almost packed with everyone we knew. Lane found us a spot and the music started up. I didn't feel like dancing, but I decided that's why I came, so I danced with Lane for a bit. A half an hour later, I had grown thirsty and went to get punch that Taylor so kindly donated. I noticed someone had backed a truck up and had a cooler in the back with someone sitting with his legs dangling over the tailgate. I caught myself staring at him, intrigued. I knew every person around here, but he was new. He looked over at me and smiled. I looked away and blushed. Lane was dancing with some random guy who asked her to dance.
"Hey, where've you been?" Lane said after the song ended and the guy left.
"I told you I was getting punch." I took the last sip that was in my cup and sighed.
"Would you like to get some more with me?" I said to Lane. Lane nodded and walked with me to the punch table. There was a song playing that sounded familiar so I kind of swayed along to the beat. I looked over at the truck and this time, the guy was swaying along to the music also, the moonlight lighting up his features perfectly. I gasped and stared at him until the song had ended. He caught me staring again and jumped down off of the truck. Lane gawked as he came toward us, smiling.
a/n: hope this was a good start. If you don't know the song, search it and see how this relates to part of the song. Review and tell me if I should continue. K thanks. (:
