Harry, Ron, and Hermione where sitting outside on a stone that had been placed by the Black Lake. They were just sitting there, enjoying each others company, because they knew that that next school year, things would go wrong for them.

Over the past year, Dumbledore had died, killed, or what they called murdered by Snape. But they didn't know what was in store for them.

Breaking the silence, Hermione mumbled something.

"Come again, Hermione? Crookshank's got your tongue?" Ron asked, trying to be funny. Hermione was not amused. She shot Ron a glare, and Harry swore he saw a shot of green light miss Ron's head by an inch.

"I said," Hermione began. "That we need to go back inside. It's getting dark. Plus, Hogwarts is under mourning, don't you think we should be there?" Ron looked at Harry. His green eyes were beginning to show the unshed tears.

"Yeah, come on 'Arry." Ron grunted, he put his hand on his edge of the stone and pushed. He slapped Harry on the back. "Sorry mate. I know your taking this hard, everybody is. Their jut to scared right now to show it." As Ron spoke, Hermione started to cry silently. She got up and grabbed Harry's hand while she and Ron hugged.

"Let's just go," Harry got up and hugged Hermione before turning toward the castle.

Hogwarts' was dark. Arrows of light still shined from where they had shot some light into the sky in memory of Dumbledore. Hagrid had taken it hard. He had grabbed his pink umbrella that Dumbledore had given him and sot sparks into the air, his magic was unstable at times of tragedy.

Ron and Hermione followed Harry back up to the sobbing castle. Silence followed them. Hermione was still crying, Ron trying to comfort her did little to help. The pulled open the castle doors and entered, turning down the big steps and entered the Great Hall.

All the students had apparently been called into the Hall. Heads turned to look at them. McGonagall walked over to them. She pulled Harry into a hug. He let her. And she let him cry silently on her shoulder.

Hermione, now overwhelmed in emotion, let tears stream down her face. Ron pulled her into an even tighter hug. Lavender was about to scream but Seamus put his hand over her mouth and pulled her down.

They where in mourning.

A/N: Sorry if it didn't make any sense to you. It just never said what happened after Dumbledore's death and so, I thought that Harry, Ron, and Hermione had gone somewhere to be by their selves. And the whole McGonagall thingy, I've always seen her as a type of motherly figure to Harry.
