The final battle was drawing to a close. Our companions had opened a path to the throne room. Only Marth and I had been able to make it this far though. As Marth sliced his way through the large room I fallowed and tore apart everyone who tried to get behind the prince.

"RRRRRRAAAAGGGGGGHHHHH!"

"(I won't let you hurt my Mar-Mar)"

"Thanks for the assist Tiki."

We sliced through the last of them. Now it was time for the Shadow Dragon! Marth went into a defensive stance while I once again roared. Then we charged. Blades and claws tore through scales, we rent each other, divine and dark, tearing at each other. Then when it seemed like I had found an opening, it suddenly wasn't there anymore, and his claws were slashing at my throat! Suddenly Marth was between his claws and my neck. Blocking with Falchion he deflected the blow away from me, but his back was torn open by the dragons claws! He fell, struggling to rise and return to the fight. With a roar my rage was unstoppable, I unleashed a torrential river of divine flame upon the upstart dragon. He crashed into the wall, crying in pain. Then a sword grew from his chest. Falchion was there, glowing brightly as the dragons body dissolved, then the sword fell. Changing back I rushed over to Marth as his knees gave out on him. He was dying, the wounds in his back were to deep to treat with regular magic! There had to be something I could do, some wa to save him! I cast my memory back, over everything my mother, Naga had taught me. Yes, that's it! Drawing upon my powers I grabbed his fading soul and bound it to his body, using part of my own soul to replace the shattered chain he had been born with.

"Tiki stop! You can't bind yourself to me like this! You can only do this for someone who you want to spend eternity with!"

Marth had recalled the legends of Manaketes binding their lives with mortals in order to lengthen their lifespan so they could be together. He had realized that I was doing the same to him to save him.

"Mar-Mar, there isn't anyone I would rather spend eternity with. I know we haven't been together as long as some of the others, but I love you! I love you more than life itself! I would give you every bit of life-force I have if it meant keeping you alive!"

Marth looked at me, deep into my eyes. There was such deep warmth there. His hand, slowly rose, and cupped my cheek. Drawing me down slightly he brought our lips together.

"I don't want that. If you aren't there then eternity wouldn't have a meaning. I'm sorry I didn't say anything, but I didn't want you to think I was after immortality."

I laid my head on his chest, breathing in his scent as I relaxed my body. His life force was stabilized. Now the weariness of the battle we had just fought began to take its toll.

"I would never think that Mar-Mar. When we go back to Altea do you think I could sleep in a room adjacent to yours."

"I would love that, I think we should wait tell spring to announce our engagement, what about you?"

"I… would love… that… Mar-Mar… goodnight."

"Goodnight Tiki."

He whispered as he embraced me tightly. We slipped into oblivion like that, together. The others latter told us that when they had arrived they found us sleeping together and had carried us to Marth's tent. Our exhaustion had lasted for several days, we hadn't left the tent in that entire time, we simply slept, and enjoyed each other's warmth. Never would we be alone, even if we were separated by thousands of miles, we were always together, connected by our shared life force, and our eternal love.
