"I talked to him! He's so cool!"
"Erhmahgerd! I know right!"
The delighted squeals of typical fangirls annoyed Neku. A lot.
The loner could feel his eyebrows twitching in irritation as he stared at the opened window with a very annoyed look. Most of the female population of his school has been ranting on about how the cool superstar Eiji Oji, better known as The Prince, who was now standing at the main entrance of their school and the deafening squeals of girls could be heard miles away. Once news about him reached to every corner of the school, all the girls just literally jumped down from the window and were now shamelessly fawning over him, much to the population of the boys' chagrin.
Shiki had once told him how the renowned celebrity was loved by his fans for his don't-give-a-damn attitude. So what? Even Neku possessed the same attitude, except he wasn't famous…
So now, he was pretty much alone in the class (the boys from his class has wandered off), doing his assignment in solitude despite the fact the teachers weren't in. He didn't mind the lonely atmosphere, really; it gave off a feeling of comfort and peace to him and also a somewhat sense of nostalgia.
Too bad his life in sanctuary didn't last long as the door of the classroom swung open without warning. He heaved a sigh as he saw a familiar face of a female whose expression was that of a typical fangirl who'd finally got the chance to talk to her idol, and he pretty much knew the words that might blurt out of her mouth. Which is…
"Neku! Guess what!"
I knew it.
"What?" He asked nonchalantly in a bored tone.
Shiki's face fell for a nanosecond, as though the matter was obvious which really was, "I talked to The Prince!"
Oh. Obviously.
"I got an autograph from him and I took a picture with him and-"
"And you kissed him senseless." He finished off for her sarcastically.
"No, that's so uncool! Then again, I mean, it won't hurt to try…" She trailed off shyly and fidgeted.
Neku's hand slightly clenched the pencil he was holding upon hearing Shiki saying such words but the latter took no heed as she continued praising her idol.
"Not to mention," She said with a clear soprano voice, "He's a hundredfold times hotter in real life than on TV."
Steams were literally coming out from Neku's ears.
"As the leader of the White Angels, it's really an honor to be able to meet such an amazing idol like him." She sighed lovingly as she stared at the opened window of where The Prince was located.
He pointedly ignored her as he tried to concentrate on his assignment, only to find it scribbled messily.
"I wonder if he's single... What do you think, Neku?"
Dafuq.
Abruptly, said person rose from his seat, much to Shiki's surprise. "You're an idiot! Did you lose a screw or somethin'?!
"Neku, I-"
"He doesn't look like the faithful type and you can find a better guy than him! What if he breaks your heart, huh?! Don't even think about crying to me!"
"Neku!"
"What?!"
"I was just kidding!"
"…"
"You knew I wasn't serious, right…?"
More "…"
"…It was very sweet of you. You thought of me."
Even more "…"
"Neku?"
Said person slammed his hands on the desk, making the girl jumped in shock. He took a very deep breath, and his eyes kinda gave off an aura of anger. Or perhaps even envy. With that, he slowly walked out of the room, hands tightly clenched.
And Shiki could've sworn at that very moment, a tinge of pink was presented on Neku's cheeks...
