Chapter 1

Aomine Daiki, proclaimed basketballer prodigy, was a force of nature on court. His insanely quick dribbling, inhumanely sharp turns and also impossible shots awed the audience in the stands. Off court, however, he was a sedentary and languid figure, frequently skipping both practice and class to laze around on the rooftop. He cut a harsh figure, with an imposing stature, sculpted physique and his distasteful personality- being both apathetic and brash, he intimidated all who laid eyes all him.

With his perpetual truancy, it was no surprise that his grades were dismal, and unsurprisingly he was completely dismissive of his academics. For what he was good at, he wasn't placing active effort into basketball either, preferring to show up for practice only to rile his teammates, specifically Wakamatsu. All said, he was a lazy bastard. However, was that merely a facade, or perhaps just the tip of the iceberg of his true personality?

Aomine and Satsuki were childhood friends since young, practically glued to the hip. Having had an exciting childhood where they could roam the manor's grounds as well as the beaches and parks they often visited when their parents went overseas for business talks. Aomine was an intelligent child, his grades were perfect, straight aces which no one who knew him now would believe it, apart from a select few. He was the perfect child: cheerful albeit aloof, independent and self-sufficient, excelling at both academics and whatever recreation he was interested in. In fact, he was forced to learn mentally stimulating games such as chess, learn to play the violin...and other cultured hobbies to uphold his family's name, much like Akashi in fact.

Akashi knew about his family as they were quite big in the day but when Aomine was roughly seven years old, the family met with some financial crisis and as all cliche stories went, their company, a finance managing one went bankrupt and the family name has dropped out of the spotlight since. The family was left with enough wealth in fact and they still led a lavish life. In fact they still attended the upper tier parties where Aomine and Akashi first met each other at the age of four. Dressed in smart, pristine clothes, they were the only children in the party aside from Momoi. Both boys were startlingly similar yet different, the differences were hinted since young despite their similar upbringing. Aomine was certainly more wild and had a sort of champion's confidence while Akashi held a more noble and kingly aura about him, but they were both winners. They clicked, as the only ones in the event of a similar age and of course their shared interests.

As they grew up, however, Aomine veered from his prestigious upbringing...
