Author's Note: A little drabble I wrote for Cyrus/Alice. There aren't enough fanfics centered on them, so I thought I'd contribute something to the OUATIW community. This is my first story; therefore, I hope you can bear with me and enjoy this!

Just Wait for Me

"She didn't heed your warning," Jafar said icily, tearing the paper crane into pieces.

Cyrus watched as the remains fell down, his heart dropping similarly to the pit of his stomach. He held a stoic mask in front of the Red Queen and Jafar until they smirked at his predicament and returned to their dinner.

His gaze then fell to his feet as a flurry of questions consumed his thoughts.

What are you doing, Alice? Why didn't you listen? Why are you still in Wonderland? My love, you're in danger!

But Cyrus knew better than anyone just how stubborn Alice could be when she had a goal. Despite what the Red Queen said, he knew Alice was coming, whether he liked it or not. Didn't Alice understand that she was more important than he was? He was nothing, just a genie meant to grant wishes and be thrown away. On the other hand, Cyrus was still touched at her fervor for him. For all Alice knew, he could've been dead. The fact that she didn't give up and move on made his heart swell.

He wondered what Alice was doing at that very second. How far away was she? Was she safe? Was she alone? Didn't she understand the gravity of the situation?

Cyrus recalled his last image of her—her beautiful yet distraught expression as he fell to his death at the Boiling Sea.

As awful as it was to be separated from his true love, he would have saved Alice a thousand times more from the Red Queen's soldiers. Cyrus's heart clenched at a sudden image of her dying somewhere in Wonderland, whispering his name in her last breath.

Alice, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I were the cause of your demise.

In all of his life, Cyrus never wanted to be a prisoner, living hundreds of years at the service of avaricious masters who couldn't care less about him. That was, until he met Alice. Now, his only wish was to live the rest of his life with her by his side. But if being Jafar's prisoner for eternity ensured Alice a chance to live a full and happy life, he would've accepted that fate tenfold.

However, she already was coming to him. And if she was coming, then by all means, he would do his best to escape this hell to meet her halfway. Cyrus closed his eyes, trying to scheme up a plan.

Alice, I love you.

Alice, I'm coming to see you.

Just wait for me.
