Parallel

A drill here, a drill there... life is good. I mean, we get food, shelter and are worth billions. How many civilians have that?

I play here, I play there... life is good. I mean, I get desserts, books and get to play every day. How many grown-ups have that?

Not to mention, my family. I have my unit mates, but we call each other brothers and sisters. One big family. Civilians don't have units like us.

Not to mention, my family. I have my parents, but I call them mommy and daddy. One small family. Grown-ups don't have families like mine.

I don't have to go on missions like the older Xs. They have responsibilities and stuff. Plus, I've heard civilians have all sorts of responsibilities. Yuck.

I don't have to work like the grown-ups in my family. They have responsibilities and stuff. Plus, I've heard that grown-ups have all sorts of responsibilities. Yuck.

I'm just a little soldier. I'm glad I'm not a civilian.

I'm just a little kid. I'm glad I'm not a grown-up.

Yep... life is good.

Author's Follow-up: Yep, definitely addicted to drabbles. I admit it... I need help.
