Lost Along the Way
by Neo Arkadia Dedicated to Jime
How do you measure the strength of a Sailor Soldier? Is it by power, is it by friendship, is it by purity, or is it by love? Many times as you walk along the road, you end up losing yourself. Everyone does it. Even the best.
When you have fought so long, you often forget the important things in life. You lose hope. You lose love. You lose trust. You even lose the capacity of caring. On the journey so long, the mind fades, the heart grows cold, and your true self dissolves in this falsehood called age.
But then a voice, a voice of blackness, an evil voice, a cruel voice comforts you. It tells you falsehoods that seem so true and so subliminal simple. It tells you a simple simple thing. Find the Star Seeds. Find all of them, bring every last Star Seed to the Cauldron
Then you get the idea that if you can bring others to help you, you might be able to do it faster. More and more do you claim the souls of the good, and corrupt them with your Sapphire Crystal. Faster and faster, the quicker it all turns, the more everyone is turned to you, the light is dulled by the darkness ever faster and faster. All the worlds fall, one by one.
The planet of crows, the planet of cats, the planet of mice, the planet of mermaids, they all succumb due to treachery, and their survivors turn to you for power. The butterflies, the warring planets, the gardeners, they serve only you and you alone. You extinguish the golden light, and the lights that served it and the silver light. But you can't rest, the Shining light of silver is still not yours, even though everything else belongs to you.
But you just can't blow out that silvery flame. No matter how hard you try blow it out, it just won't stop shining. Even it's tiniest, it sparkles again, revealing that long eroded road. Your mind swells with everything you forgot. The flame offers warmth and kindness, an offer of friendship you lost. In the deepest corridors of your mind, the words echo in your mind, as the flame pulls you away from the darkness just as it was to consume you.
But it's too late. All too late. Too late. The flame tries to brighten your world, as you fall back in, the darkness reaches and grabs you back. But you realize, that you can feel love, compassion, and friendship. If even for a moment, before the Darkness makes disappear forever in perpetual midnight.
