Memories at a Train Station
She remembered back to that day, when she buried her head into his chest, listening to the sound of his heartbeat, and how later that day, as they sat on the cool ground in the sinking sunlight, he put his arm around her, and she leaned her head onto his shoulder...
She remembered the next year when he sat with her on the stairs, and dried the tears from her eyes, how he walked her back to her dormitory, his fingers entangled with hers. That night they sat up in the common room for hours just talking and laughing...
The next year, when everything began to look bad, she looked to him for strength, support, and protection. She remembered the time they spent time in the room of requirement after everyone else had left...
But the one memory that sticks out in her mind was that day, when she sat upon the stairs with her eyes full of tears, he came and wrapped his arms around her, his embrace was strong yet gentle. She looked deep into his eyes, and he into hers, and they kissed, their first of many...
The night in the tent, as the world was slowly falling apart around them, how he took her arm, and they danced, for mere minutes, that felt like hours.
The most painful memory she still holds in her heart, is the day when he came to her, and said he had to face the Dark Lord alone. She knew he was going to die, but it was that day, in the dust and debris of a fallen school, that he told her.. "I love you... I have always loved you, and I always will..." she gave him a final kiss, as the tears welled up in her eyes, she cried as he walked away.
Then she saw his body carried by the half giant, a look of victory upon the Dark Lord's face... She knew all hope was lost, but she was going to fight on, no matter what, that's what he would've wanted. Then he stirred, and rolled from his carrier's arms, and all their hope was restored...
When the battle was won, and the Dark Lord was vanquished, they shared the most wonderful kiss, he had come back to her... the boy who lived... the boy she loved..
Hermione snaps out of her trip down down memory lane, she's standing on platform 9 3/4 and standing beside her is the man she loves, the man she married, a little more scarred, but still as handsome as she remembered, and in his eyes, she was the most beautiful woman in the world. With the boy she loved, she had two wonderful children, a boy, James Sirius Potter, and a daughter, Rose lily Potter.
Today, James will board The Hogwarts Express, and begin his first year at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry...
