You realize...as you watch the 'unsinkable' boat, the Titanic, sink, that you are going to freeze out here in the Atlantic Ocean.
You let him drag you through the water...and help you on a piece of wood, that's just big and strong enough for you.
You lay and he floats in silence and then you say the words you wanted to say before all this happened.
"I love you Jack."
He says no. He tells you that you are not going to die; that you are going to make lots of babies and grow old and watch them grow old. He's says that you are going to survive.
You tear up at the memory of Jack Dawson; you remember how he kissed you, how he made you feel, how he was the only man you ever really loved.
You tell everything to a group of people who search the remains of the Titanic for anything at all. The story-your story...your love story-of how you met Jack Dawson, fell in love with Jack Dawson and watched Jack Dawson die.
You remember how you came to be on the research boat all because of a picture-the drawing Jack drew of you. Naked as the day you were born, only wearing the Heart of the Sea. It was the most erotic experience of your life..and you remember it...clear as day.
You confess later that night to your granddaughter that you never 'did it' with her grandfather-your one and only child was Jack Dawson's child. She understands and then goes off to dinner, leaving you with your thoughts.
You remember every minute of your life that you spent with or thinking of Jack.
You lay down in bed and finger the necklace that was in your pocket the whole time...
...The Heart of the Sea...
You take it out and realize that it never changed. It had been the same for nearly 84 years, maybe more. You place it back in your pocket and lay back...closing your eyes. You remember everything you did in your life...everything you wanted to do with Jack but didn't; you did it with you husband.
It wasn't that you didn't love your husband...
...it was the fact that you didn't love his nearly as much as you did Jack...
You decided it was time to see him again-Jack that is. You keep the necklace in your pocket. You will let whoever finds it, keep it.
You slowly fade into darkness, remembering the voyage of the Titanic and Jack. You soon realize that you are right there with him, in Heaven, where you both belong. Forever and always. He looks exactly as he did the night of the collision and as you take his hand, you realize that you are on the Titanic, once more...surrounded by all of those who had lost their lives on aboard the ship.
He twirled you and told you that he loved you. You let tears fall freely and then you kiss him...
...because that's what you do when you finally meet the one you love after 84 years right?
Later...from Heaven...you find your great-granddaughter and follow her life. She was born a year after you died and she lived almost the same life you did. Yes...she even survived a boat sinking. But this time...the one she loved was her best friend who had come with her. And yes...he had survived.
You watch as she is handed the Heart of the Sea from the great-grandson of the man who had built the Titanic. And you couldn't be happier.
You and Jack watch from above as the two make their life...
...in the exact way the two of you would have...

The last part was basically made up. About the great-granddaughter. Think of her as me. I always wanted to be related to Rose Dawson...so now I am. Kindasortanotreally.
