I hesitated between Gryffindor and Slytherin for Lyra. Sure, she's brave, reckless, and loyal – but she's also cunning, determined, and a leader. She is charismatic and clever; she's compassionate and does the right thing at the end. She's adventurous, wild; she can be arrogant. However, I decided on Gryffindor; because her Gryffindor qualities stand out the most.

Will here could have also gone to Gryffindor with his Lyra. He has many of her same qualities; however, he's much more ruthless than her. Remember, he tells her that he'll kill her if she does something, somewhere in the second book; Serafina Pekkala herself is afraid of him, of his eyes. Ruta says he's the same kind as Lord Asriel. He likes to keep in the shadows; he's kept his mad mother from the authorities for the first years dozen of years or so of his life. He's extremely careful and clever. Yes, he's loyal and brave – but Snape was too, and he was definitely Slytherin. So Will is off to dear Slytherin.
