"Hmph," Shadow scoffed as he watched Sonic and Tails dash across the luscious Green Hill Zone at ultimate super sonic speed. "I"m sure I could run at ultimate super sonic speed if I wanted to. I just don't feel like trying."

"Oh, shut up, you fuzz-buff," a sexy, bat-like voice said behind him.

"Who said that?" Shadow demanded.

"I did," Rooschz the bat said. "Don't even kid yourself, Shadow. Sonic is way fast. You couldn't even dream of outrunning him!"

"It's no use!" said Silver.

"I'm better than Sonic in every way!" the hedgehog roared. "Of course I could run faster than him!"

"I'd like to see you try," said Rooschz.

Shadow began to nervously sweat. Could he actually outrun Sonic? He wasn't sure. But he couldn't disappoint Rooschz, the secret love of his life.

"Okay, fine," said Shadow. "Sonic and I will have a race tomorrow afternoon in the amusement park from Sonic Colors. Then you'll see how fast I can be."

"Beautiful day for a race! Huh, Shadow?" Sonic quipped as they stretched and warmed up. "Why'd you challenge me yesterday?"

Shadow's already red fur got even more red because of blushing. "No particular reason…" he said.

"Are you trying to impress Rooschz?" Sonic teased.

"Shut the fuck up, Sonic," Shadow snapped. "I am fucking sick of your fucking bullshit all the fucking time."

"Shadow, I was-"

"Everything's always 'Oh, look at me! I'm Sonic the fucking Hedgehog! Gotta go fast! You're too slow! You're too fucking slow! You're a fucking douchebag, Sonic. You're a dick."

"Dude, calm down."

"Don't tell me to fucking calm down! You're the one who's always coked up with your eight year-old mutant fox lover running around the city like an asshole! Fuck you. Go to fucking Hell, you prick."

"Shadow, do you want to race or not?"

Shadow shot Sonic in the leg with a gun.

"JESUS CHRIST!" Sonic screamed because of the pain. "JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! FUCK! GOD! WHY'D YOU DO THAT? WHY THE FUCK DID YOU GO THAT?"

Shadow didn't give a fuck.

Later they kissed.
