Disclaimer: So Naruto isn't mine. I'm merely borrowing it and its characters.

Author's Notes: So this is my first kakashi sakura fic. Yeah, I was wondering what is it with older men and younger girls. Hahaha. Anyway, I hope you'll like it. Please tell me what you think about it. Thanks a lot!

He arrived finally. He crept slowly, unlocked the door, and checked the bedroom to find her sleeping already.

He smiled, so Genma was right, finding a lovely woman on your bed after a mission lessens the fatigue. But this wasn't simply one lovely woman, this is his woman. And finding his kunoichi sleeping and waiting for him was enough to make him forget he even came from a mission in the first place.

He crept to the bathroom and took a shower. He wouldn't disturb her tonight. He would allow her to sleep. There had been countless nights when as he would slip into bed after coming home from a mission, she would stir, wake up and welcome him home. She would then kiss him and make love to him.

And inasmuch as he would want to make love to her right now he couldn't do so. He shouldn't be selfish. She was tired enough from all the stressful work in the hospital as a top medic.

It was almost morning, yet the sky was still dark. In between his arrivals and the mornings following those she would be there.

He dried himself with a towel, put on his boxers and slipped into bed. He loved this feeling. This feeling of being contented. He took in her scent, buried his face into her hair and wrapped a possessive arm around her waist. He knew she would open her eyes now.

"Kakashi," her voice came sweet and soft to his ears. She slowly turned to face him, rubbing her eyes.

"I have woken you up," he grinned. He noticed the tiredness in her eyes. "How was work at the hospital?"

"Everything's fine," she silenced him, gazed into his face and said, "How was the mission?"

"It's fairly easy," he lied. Of course not. It was a B-rank mission, simple enough. A three man team composed of him, Genma and a chuunin was tasked to escort a trader back to the Sand Country. But jounin level assassins came to take him down and that made the mission complicated. But anyway, Sakura need not know about it now. Besides he came home safe.

"Were you hurt?" she asked, concern crossing her face.

So there she goes again. It was standard operating procedure for her to check his physical health every time he comes home from a mission. Only after she is certain that he is safe would she stop.

"No, just some minor scratches," this time it was the truth. He wasn't that badly hurt, he was just tired.

"I'll look at the scratches," she was about to get up when he quickly pulled her down on the bed.

"Tomorrow," he drawled, pulling her closer, nuzzling her neck, "Tomorrow you can check them all for as long as you want."

She ruffled her hair, "Oh alright."

"Sakura?"

"Hmm?" she murmured, lifting his chin in her palm. She gave him a fleeting kiss on the mouth.

He smiled, "I'm glad to see you."

She laughed softly, giving him another kiss, "I'm glad to see you too."

"Were you worried about me?"

"A little," she traced his face with her fingertips.

"A little?" he frowned.

She stopped as she reached the point of his nose, "Because I am certain you'd come back to me."

He smiled. So she knew him much better than any body else does. He felt so lucky. He gazed at her face, and found her leaning in for a kiss. He sighed, even though he told himself he'll not make love to her he seemed weak in his resolve. He slipped his arms around her back and pulled her close.

"Welcome home," she murmured just before his lips met hers.

"I am," he smiled. Thinking about it now, he realized he wouldn't mind taking back to back missions. So he really was one lucky guy. Genma indeed was right.

A/n: So how was it? I haven't thoroughly edited it…hahaha, I'm so lazy. Anyway, I do hope you'll all like it.
