A/N: O ya. I'mma gonna do the first Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's fic. I think.
This is my first fic! You'd think I'd want to start off on a good note, but whatever. I'll get there eventually.
Now I wish I finished watching Yu-gi-oh GX. I now realize that I want to see the rest up until the conclusion…
I also realize how easy it is to make slash pairings out of characters in GX as well. 3
One-shot, may continue if I feel like it.
Warning: Arbitrary plot, that is, lots of guessing. Only two episodes are out. Mostly focuses on the subtle crush that Rally has on Yusei.
Be constructive in your criticisms, please.
Yusei, as usual, was working on his D-Wheel. He had just recently finished it, and it was prone to falling apart (as it was made completely from scrap). He had a goal in mind, to get the chance to have a rematch with Jack. Jack, sitting up on his high pedestal, looking down at everyone, and leaving his friends like old worn-out shoes…
For Rally, Jack's betrayal stung because he knew that Jack was Yusei's best friend. Rally knew that he was fated to trail behind Yusei, but Rally didn't mind it. He knew that Yusei wanted nothing more than to have his friend back, although Rally didn't think Jack deserved the admiration that Yusei gave him.
At one point, Rally asked him point-blank: "Why do you still care about him?" But all Yusei would do was continue to silently labor away at his D-Wheel.
Rally did not press the matter. He supposed he wouldn't ever understand.
In Rally's short life, he had learned that the only way for people to survive was to join with others in their quest for survival, just like the birds that used to fly above the Domino City. When the flock is attacked, some of them may die, but they risk themselves for the rest. Rally had faced the cops several times, caught stealing food for the others. Nerve, Taka, and Blitz were like a bunch of monkeys in Rally's eyes, and he had never trusted Jack to begin with. They were like the flock, staying together solely to survive. But Yusei was the only one he would call a friend.
Rally absently touched the scar on his face, marking him as a criminal. People might think he might feel some guilt for his "sins", and would feel sorry that he had to stoop so low at such a young age. However, Rally had not one bit of shame if it was for Yusei.
"Yusei, that chip that you have…"
Without looking back at Rally, Yusei responded "It's the only one I could find… it's also old. But it works enough."
"Oh, I know where you can get a new one, don't worry!"
And with that, Rally dashed out of their hideout.
