Runaway

This idea just … came to me. Even with no inspiration at the moment, it came to me. Hope this takes off.

All she could do was just stand there. Stand there and watch and her best friend lay helpless on the ground.

Lauren and Percy stood a safe distance from the Griffin that was clawing Charlotte up into tiny pieces. Lauren's crying eyes were hidden deep within Percy's shoulder. Percy's new shirt was ruined, but he didn't care.

Griffin's are usually for guarding great amounts of treasures, because of its great eyesight. So you're probably wondering why it was clawing a person to the ground.

Lauren blames Chiron for this. It was his fault. Actually it was Mr. D's. Dionysus was the one that wanted us to go retrieve the Stone of Souls, a 43-carot gem.

The Griffin poked at her body, tying to find the gem to return it back to Daedelus' Chest of Treasures. Percy was actually holding the gem in his pocket.

Lauren lifted her head. Her eyes and nose were red. "Percy. Just give it the stupid freaking rock. Percy!"

"We can't, Lauren. Dionysus needs it. I'm sorry about Charlotte," Percy replied slowly.

Lauren tightly shut her eyes closed. "Let's just get into the car and drive back to freaking camp so we can give Mr. A-Hole the freaking rock.

Lauren climbed into the passenger seat of the truck Percy had stolen. Percy started the truck into a steady roar.

They drove back to Camp Half-Blood. Lauren was fast asleep.

Percy picked Lauren up and carried her back to her cabin and laid her down on her bed. Percy kissed her on the forehead and went to find Dionysus.

Once Percy found him, he went all ninja kitty of demigod death on him. You probably know what happened.

When Lauren finally woke before sunset, she went to find Chiron.

She ran to the big house, knocked on the door six times before Pony Boy answered.

"Took you long enough Pony Boy," Lauren said. She needed to talk to Chiron, badly.

"Sorry I was baking cookies and watching Elmo," he replied.

"I need to leave camp. I need to get away from this hell away from hell. I can't stay here anymore."

Chiron stopped and took a good look at her, hoping her head wasn't damaged.
