Hibiki sat in his room looking at his phone while his Maril ran around his room.
' She hasn't called in a while...' He thought.
"I hope she's alright..." He said to his Maril.
"Ril?" His Maril replied.
"Yeah... I'm just being paranoid..." He said walking down stairs.
"Hibiki, why don't you and you're Maril go out and get some air?" His father asked. Hibiki silently slipped on his shoes and walked out. He looked up at the sky.
'I liked it better before... When it was just me and her... But now... There are others too... The Dragon guy, the Emo punk, the Suiecune fanboy and many others too... Damn it.'
"I liked it better... When it was just me." Hibiki sighed.
"Ril?" His Maril looked up at him in worry, then looked up alert.
"It's nothing- HEY!" Hibiki exlamed as his Maril stole his hat and ran. He chased his Maril to the town entrance where she stood, silly hat and all.
"K-Kotone! W-Welcome back!" He stuttered.
"Thatnks, Hibiki. Good to be back." She said walking towards him.
"I- I missed you.." He said his face turning slightly red.
"Huh? Oh! I missed you too." She smiled.
'Not like how missed you though.' He thought, his expression turning sad.
"What's up, Hibiki? You sick?" She asked worried.
"No. I'm fine." He said looking at her with a fake smile.
"That's good. Hey, I gotta go talk to my mom. See ya' around." She said walking to her house.
'Damn it. I can't say it to her face. She needs someone who can... I'm no good. Just her friend.'
