Jinx sat at the park bench waiting for her date. No this was rally her scene but she wanted to give it a try. But mostly because he guilt tripped her into it but that's besides the point. The point is she has been waiting at a bench for the fastest kid in the world for twenty minutes. She was just about to grab her phone and call him when he zoomed up to her.
"Sorry I was late, I had to get something for you." Wally said pulling out a white rose from behind his back.
"Thanks…what am I supposed to do with it?" Jinx asked looking quizzically at the rose.
"Put it in a vase I guess, I just wanted to get you something romantic." Wally replied scratching the back of his neck. Jinx wondered why he thought giving her something that would die in 3 days was romantic. "We should go." Wally said breaking the awkward silence. He held his hand out and Jinx hesitantly took it. They followed the path through the park and began their date. They approached a nice area in the grass under a tree and sat down. Wally pulled two ice creams from the small box he had been carrying and gave the vanilla one to Jinx.
"I haven't had ice cream in two years, I don't even think I know how to eat it right." Said Jinx laughing but Wally wasn't. "What? It's a joke you're supposed to laugh." Said Jinx.
"Your smile is beautiful." Said Wally as he grazed his hand across her cheek and started leaning in for a kiss. This startled Jinx and she did the next best thing, she shoved her ice cream in his face. Wally wiped the ice cream from his eye sand said
"You know I have to get you back right?" Wally said and got up and started chasing her around the park. It felt like there was no one else in the world but him and the love of his life. Once He caught up to her he swooped in for a hug and held her in his arms.
"You were a little slow for a kid faster than the speed of light." She giggled and leaned in for a kiss. Wally started to lean in as well until he shoved his strawberry ice cream in her face.
"I told you I'd get you back."
