"I have to be honest, and if I am being honest, I have to say that I do not love all of you in the same way. There is one I do love, more than the others." Djaq looked anywhere besides Will's eyes.

Will looked up slightly, his eyes hopeful.

She spoke slowly. "The way a bird would fly two thousand miles through storms, just to be with the one he loves; that is the love I feel." Tears fill her eyes. "Now I am a fool," she then looked at him as she spoke," because it is only now, when we are about to die, that I have the courage to admit it, even to myself."

He unfolded his arms, shocked.

Her gaze locked onto his, steady, unwavering. "I'm sorry. I should have said earlier. You, Will Scarlet are strong, and true, and you fight for what you believe in."

He smiled and looked down, a blush forming on his cheeks.

She smiled. "And that's why I love you."

Looking up, he smiled again. "And I love you," he said with passion in his voice.

She laughed.

"I love the way you say what you mean." He smiled. "I love your silly voice," he teased with a laugh.

"Silly voice?"

He laughed again; a happy, content sound.

"That's it. I take it back, all of it. I hate you," she teased back with a smile on her lips.

"And I love the way you fight, like a man: ferocious." His voice grew quieter. "And the way you will always," his eyes grew warmer as they bore into hers, "always be a woman." They smiled at each other, finally being able to express their love to each other.
