Two of a kind and no one home,
I'm in a crowd and I'm still alone,
Can't you see these skies are breaking?
Cos one of a kind is all I own..

...

"You must be Finn. The brother Kol and Elijah have told me about," she whispered, sounding more polite than most vampires. Finn nodded modestly.

"Why aren't you with my brother Kol on his rendezvous adventures?" he asked. She stared at him and rolled her eyes with a light grin. "I do not participate with Kol in his hunts my lord," she addressed him by his proper title. She gave him a deep curtsy, suddenly remembering her manners.

He bowed and shook her hand. His lips caressed the back of her hand, seeming affectionate. She kept her eyes on him, reading him easily.

That was one of Lexi's many gifts throughout her long-drawn lifespan. "Well, there must be something I could do for you. I mean I do not deserve the presence of such a fine young lady," he was laying it on thick. Lexi didn't mind though.

She giggled in appreciation. "Keep me entertained. Simple as that my lord," she smirked. "Well that could be arranged," he held his hand out for her to take. She took it freely and let him lead her out onto the glorious land of his family's estate. Well his brother's.

"This land is so amazing. It still amazes me to this day," she seemed to be talking to no one in particular, so Finn just nodded from beside her. "Why is such a fine lady hanging around the company of my brothers?" he suddenly asked.

She stopped and looked at him. "Your brother. Niklaus, he saved me. I was ready to die. Being one of Queen Isabella's ladies in waiting was a deadly job. I was completely devoted to her. I should have known not to trust her," she drawled reminiscently. "She tried anything to keep herself safe in a time of trouble. She accused me, and three other ladies in waiting of witchcraft. We were ready to be stoned in the center of town. But Niklaus saved me, while the others died," she remarked with a bitter edge.

Finn was surprised. "I'm so sorry," he said quickly, feeling an empathy towards the lady by his side now. "I've lived past it my lord. But the constant regret is there, I don't feed as frequently as your brothers and sister," she said nonchalantly.

He stared at her in amazement. Somehow he felt connected to her. They were like one another, hating their vampirism. They didn't want to hurt people. That was certain.

They were alike in many ways.

Which made them the great lovers they were in the near future after that one walk with eachother.

...

When Finn had awakened from his long sleep, thanks to Elijah, he was hoping to see Lexi. But soon realized she was dead. He knew then that he would welcome the binding and killing of all of his siblings, including himself.

He had loved her so much. Now he felt misunderstood and out of place in this world. He knew he had to be with her somehow. Even in death.
