The room was dark, and the only light was the illuminating reflection of the crescent moon in the window of the sleeping quarters. Church had fallen asleep hours ago (due to a hell of tiresome day), and had no signs of waking up. With all the work of protecting the base from those stuck-up Reds, and having to deal with your stupid fucking teammates, sleep is something you have to cherish.

A creak from the floorboards outside of the room wakes the sleeping man up. He makes a mental note to renovate. Eventually.

The door creaks open revealing a streak of gold light and a blotch of a darker shade of blue. Time to go back to sleep.

The 'blotch of unfortunate blueness' creeps into the room whilst the taller man lies alone. Fuck, Church thinks. He's not supposed to be in here when I am! Didn't Tucker teach him anything?

"Church…", Caboose whispers softly. "Church, are you awake?"

No answer.

"Okay, I'm coming in."

Caboose walked to up the bed of his teammate and best friend. Obviously he was sleeping, so was it a good idea to come in? Oh, Church wouldn't mind. He looked over at the 'sleeping' man to check if he was really asleep. Sometimes Church would like to trick him. Nope, still asleep.

The younger, less intelligent blue walked over to the side of the bed and crawled in. Does he always do this when I'm sleeping?, Church wondered. However, he didn't really want to find out.

Church relaxed a bit when Caboose softly wrapped his arms around Church. He felt his head bury into his back, and flushed red. Did he… enjoy this? Pff, no way! Church, knock out of it!, he told himself.

Then he felt the tears trail down his back. Caboose was… crying? Church didn't think he was capable of feeling sadness. Oh well, no matter. Why the hell was he crying? Did he accidently put his armor on backwards again?

Church felt the younger's mouth move against the back of his neck. His words were muffled, but Church felt him say, "I'm sorry I'm not as cool as Tucker."

What. In the fuck, Does that even mean?, Church pondered. Not as cool as Tucker? Tucker's not even cool. Whatever, it's Caboose we're talking about. You never know what to expect from him

And not knowing what to expect indeed. After Caboose's little tearful 'monologue', Church really didn't except him to lean over his own body and kiss him on the cheek.

"You're my best friend, Church."

Suddenly, Church felt a little different towards the rookie.
