Abandoned
Great Harlock waiting quietly sitting on a stone, the coming of his childhood friend, Elysanna. She had to ask him to wait for a more important reason. It had been three years that the earth and planets colonized by humans were at war, and Great Harlock had lost his wife, Helen. He had cried, as his son had cried his mother. A year that Helen had died, and his heart was still bleeding. He had met six months after the departure of Elysanna, his first love. Prime impossible love, even after all these years, even after the death of Helen, he still believed.
- Great ?
He looked up, and crossed the pale gray eyes of Elysanna.
- Elysa, it makes me happy to see you, he said in a barely audible voice.
The young woman shook her against a small person wrapped in linen sheets. Great Harlock arched an eyebrow. Why did it come with a child? Elysa anticipated his question.
- I need your help, she said softly.
He looked into her friend's. He could not refuse. She was the first person to move to the death of Helen. She had to comfort him and his son. He owed him something in return.
- You know I can not refuse you, he said.
Elysanna crouched before him, and spread the cloths she held in her arms. Great Harlock could see a little face, like that of Elysa.
- This is my daughter, Elsana she is two years old.
The hacker did not know what to say. His Elysa had a daughter with that Leroy Swan, whom she had met during her trip to Mars. She had fallen in love, and had gone with him to a distant planet from Earth. The planet Abussos.
- What is the relationship with your daughter ? Asked he.
- The enemy laid siege to my planet, I managed to pass through friends to come see you.
- Why Leroy is not with you ?
Elysa's eyes grew sad. Her husband had perished in helping to pass the enemy barrier, there are two days.
- He's dead, 'she whispered.
A tear rolled down her pale cheek. Great wiped it with his thumb.
- Why did you come, Elysa ?
- I wanted to ask you to please keep my daughter while I save my planet enemy hands, she said between sobs.
He took the girl in his arms and rocked her gently.
- You entrusted me with your daughter, for it to have someone to hang her, if it happens to you, right ?
Elysa nodded. The sobs of the mother woke the girl. Elsa opened his little eyes and Great noticed they had the same color as those of his Elysa.
- Mama ?
- Hopefully, my little heart, murmured the mother.
The hacker took little Elsa in her arms and stood up. Elysanna suit. She took off the medal she wore around his neck, and slipped into the hands of his daughter. She put her one last look at the face of his daughter.
- Thank you, Great.
- I will keep until you return, and if you do not come, I will raise as my daughter.
He kissed the forehead of the woman, and went away Elysanna the heart to pieces.
