Hello all! To make up for the fact that I totally suck because of my huge homework load, I have decided to post a very small chapter as the beginning of my first Mukuro/Hibari story! 6918 rules and I hope this pleases my dear friend Lady Serena Sparrow. There is no lemon in the first chapter unfortunately, but I promise it will arrive soon! Enjoy and please review!

Disclaimer: I do not own Katekyo Hitman Reborn…I'm so poor I've only bought two of the manga so far! But I read it al online anyway…heheheheh.

Warning: Contains yaoi (a.k.a guys loving other guys in a naughty way)

Honesty is a Virtue

Prologue: Falling

Takes place Eight Years Later

Hibari didn't want to believe Mukuro when he said, "I love you, Kyouya. Please believe me."

He had gotten used to Mukuro's flirtations and perverted comments, but for so many years he had chalked it off as the pineapple simply messing with him. Hibari hated being messed with. Hibari's rivalry with Mukuro had not ended throughout the years, but it had become rather tame in comparison to how it had been when they first knew each other. Whenever the illusionist would suddenly pop up out of nowhere and annoy Hibari just by speaking in that silk-smooth tone, the prefect made sure to swing a tonfa at him at least once. If he didn't follow through on his threats, then Mukuro might mistakenly get the impression that Hibari had gone soft.

The truth was that Hibari had not just gone soft…but he'd actually fallen in love with the blue-haired pest. Hibari often wore up gasping and moaning Mukuro's name. His face burned as he realized how wet a certain part of his anatomy had become. It was humiliating! He was supposed to be cold, indifferent, inhuman. How could he have let himself change? How could he have let his guard down enough to allow the sneaky bastard into his heart? He wasn't even sure when it happened. All he knew was that he wished those entirely unwelcome feelings would just go away. Immediately.

"Kyouya, are you okay? You look paler than usual," Mukuro asked quietly, his blue and red eyes were darkened with concern.

He reached out a hand to feel Hibari's forehead, and the touch of his soft, cold hand against Hibari's burning skin made the skylark flinch. Mukuro took the movement the wrong way and quickly withdrew. His face briefly showed an expression of hurt before it returned to its mask of mischievousness. He laughed, but it sounded forced, and Hibari swallowed down the guilt which had begun to crawl up his esophagus. Wait, maybe it wasn't guilt? Nausea and dizziness overwhelmed him and the last thing he remembered seeing was Mukuro's face… with the mask gone and panic written all over it.

"Kyouya! Hey, are you feeling- Kyouya!" Mukuro's shout fell upon deaf ears as Hibari passed out.

Hmm…a very short chapter indeed. At least it's only the prologue. Everyone knows the prologue is often the shortest chapter in a story anyway. I would have started to work on Chapter One, but I have to stop here because I am in school at the moment and class is starting soon. Until next time folks, keep the 6918 love flowing!
