Percy wasn't one to find himself as a whiner. Sure, there were a few exceptions. Who could blame him when Sally's homemade blue chocolate chip cookies were involved?

Sitting by himself, staring at the sparkling ocean in front of him, he found himself wishing Annabeth was with him to share this magical moment.

Annabeth had broken up with him about a week ago. They both agreed that they loved each other as siblings, and siblings do not date siblings. They were still best friends of course.

A chorus of seagulls cried, the flock making a V-shaped formation in the sky.

Laying down in the sand, Percy let his eyes close, letting the warm sun beat down on his face while the ocean gave him quick jolts of energy as it washed onto his feet.

He was just about ready to fall asleep when a shadow blocked the sun from his face.

Percy peeked one eye open to see Nico di Angelo standing above him.

The fifteen year old had some of his original olive skin back, but he was still pale. Dark, almost black, hair was swept messily around the top of his head, bangs falling into his dark onyx eyes.

Percy sat up, beckoning Nico to sit down next to him. Nico obliged.

Nico sat crisscross beside him.

"Uh, I heard about your breakup." Nico barely managed to get out, he was a stuttering mess. Percy found it cute.

"Your point?" Percy asked in an almost teasing manner.

"Just be warned that a lot of the girls are going to track you down."

Nico smirked, "As much as people say I am not a sadist, it will be fun for me to watch you being mobbed by a bunch of girls."

Percy just laid his head back and smiled, "Then we will have dozens of broken hearts, because I'm not interested in any girls right now."

He winked at Nico and Nico felt his face heating up.

"W-what do you mean?" Nico stuttered.

"One of the reasons, well the main reason, why I broke up with Annabeth is because I realized I liked boys." Percy explained.

Nico cocked his head to the side, "Didn't Annabeth break up with YOU?"

Percy waved him off, "Details, details."

Nico laughed, but then realized what Percy had just said. He stiffened.

"Do you like any particular boys?"

"Not really, I'm not picky. Just as long as he makes the first move because you know as well as I do that I am normally painfully oblivious when it comes to things like love."

Nico decided that he was going to throw all caution to the wind.

Holding Percy's face in his hands, Nico pulled Percy's head down to his, pressing his lips to the son of Poseidon.

Percy froze, unsure of what he should do.

But just as he was starting to lean into the kiss, Nico pulled back and bit his lower lip nervously.

"I like you. Love you in fact." Nico stated softly. All Percy could do was smile like an idiot. Softly grabbing Nico's hand, Percy whispered to him, "I am willing to try this if you are." Nico nodded.

Nico leaned in for another kiss and Percy grew excited with anticipation, but at the last second, Nico turned his head away.

Percy felt himself growing agitated. "Why didn't you kiss me?" he whined, and adorable pout on his face reminding Nico of a baby seal.

Percy started to whine playfully until Nico gave him another swift kiss to effectively shut him up.

"Gods, you are annoying." Nico grumbled.

"That's why you love me!" Percy laughed, giving him a peck on the cheek.

Nico didn't reply, he only rested his head on Percy's shoulder as the two boys enjoyed the day at the beach together.

That was my first fanfic. Please give kind criticism on how I could improve my short stories.
