Chapter 1

Authors note: I don't know if I like this. Should I carry it on? Review.

"Em" Alex called from the top of the stairs.

"What lex , I'm trying to write a case report" Emily responded not even stopping what she was doing to answer her. She heard footsteps getting closer to her office she spun around in her chair to face the door.

Alex slowly opened the door to the office and stood before Emily in her Nike sweats and a oversized grey hoodie with her hair in a messy bun.

"Can me, you and JJ have a girls night soon it's been soooo long since we had one" Alex smiled sweetly extending the word 'so'. Emily smiled at the mention of JJs name.

"Erm yeah sure, she'll have to bring Henry along though" Emily grinned back at Alex.

"That's fine I love that little guy!! I'll text her now" Alex winked walking out leaving Emily to write her case report.

The week passed slowly waiting for the day of their girls night. They decided to have it at Emily's house considering its bigger and has a guest room for Henry to get to sleep in. Friday rolled around and the whole team were gathered discussing their Saturday night plans when Alex walked through the bullpen doors.

"EMILY!!!" She screamed across the room earning a lot of concerned looks from other members of the team. Emily instinctively reached for her gun along with the other team members before turning around to see a very happy, unharmed Alex stood before her.

"Oh my god, you scared the shit out of me Alex, what's up?" The older brunette said seriously walking over to the young blonde. Alex didn't give her an answer instead she let her read through the letter that had been sent by the school.

"I have one week off for study time for our finals!" The teen squealed which made the members of the BAU laugh.

"Hey kid, we can finally go rock climbing like I told you we would" Morgan said striding over to her wrapping her in his arms, lifting her from the ground. Emily went on to tell Alex that she definitely wasn't going anywhere with Derek if she hadn't done any studying before hand.

Later in the evening the two girls were stood in Emily's kitchen preparing snacks for when Jennifer and Henry arrived, the two were discussing how Emily had tried to tell Jennifer how she felt the day that she got the call about Alex's father.

"Em, come on , what's there to not like, you're gorgeous. Trust me if you made a move and stopped being such a pussy-" Alex was interrupted by JJ walking through the door hand in hand with Henry.

"Sorry we just let ourselves in" JJ apologised earning a 'no worries' from the duo. Alex straight away ran over to Henry picking him up over her shoulder and leaving the two older women to talk.

"I'm pretty sure when I walked in, Alex was calling you a pussy" JJ said trying to keep a straight face watching Emily pour two glasses of wine.

"Oh god. I know I'm meant to be like her mom now.. but I've always been like ... I don't know the cool aunt so I just want to keep our relationship the same" the brunette explained watching JJ take a sip of her wine, she couldn't help but notice Jennifer had more make up on than usual, red lips infact.

While the two women continued to talk in the kitchen Alex was playing dinosaurs with Henry, she watched as the little blonde hair ,blue eyed boy crashed the Tyrannosaurus rex figure into a heard of other smaller dinosaurs with a rawr erupting from his mouth, earning a laugh from Alex.

"Al?" The boy asked with a questioning tone.

"Yeah buddy" she said cleaning up as Henry changed his activity.

"I heard my mommy on the phone to penn the other day and she was talking about a girl, like the way Derek talks about savannah. I think my mommy loves another girl but I don't know who she is, why won't she tell me?" The question was said with curiosity.

Alex picked up some colouring pencils and began drawing "well, you know that some people can have two mommies?" Henry nodded remembering his mom telling him how no matter who he loved she would always love him.

"Well maybe your mommy can fall in love with another girl, like aunt Emmy can. If your mommy has a girlfriend I'm sure she will tell you buddy" she patted his shoulder, they played until it was time for him to go to bed. She gave him a kiss goodnight and let JJ put him to sleep.

JJ, Emily and Alex sat on the couch, Emily was in the middle jjs legs rested over her lap and Alex snuggled into her side. Alex had fallen asleep half way through the movie and Emily decided to wake her up and get her to go into her room. She lightly shook her shoulder "Al baby, wake up, I think you should go to your bedroom and sleep" Alex groaned and rose from he couch in a zombie like motion.

"Mhmm, night JJ. Love you mom. Remember to talk to Jen about that thing" Alex said sleepily kissing Emily's forehead and making her way upstairs.

JJ stared at Emily mouth wide open and her wine glass in one hand the other behind her head. "When did she start calling you mom, Em?" JJ questioned. Emily was unaware that she had began stroking jjs calves.

"She does it every so often when she's tired" Emily smiled knowing how happy she was that Alex started to see her as a mom. JJ made a huge deal out of it, congratulating Emily and holding her in a long hug.

"So what was it that you wanted to talk to me about?" JJ asked innocently tracing her finger around the rim of her glass.

"Oh its nothing really" Emily had enough alcohol in her to tell JJ how she felt but she decided against it. It seemed like the most sensible thing to do.

"Oh come on em, just tell me! You did this the day you got the call about Alex and her dad. Pleaseeee" Jennifer drug out the 'e' begging Emily to tell her.

The brunette took a swig of her wine and faced JJ, hooking her hands under the blondes knees and pulling her towards her. They were now face to face looking into each other's eyes.

"JJ, I don't know how to say this. I really don't, Henry told Alex that he heard you talking to penn about some woman. He said it's how Derek talks about savannah, which if it was Alex who had said that I would be worried because they're both pretty inappropriate. But I think we can rule that out with Henry" she chuckled placing a hand upon JJs.

"Who is this mystery woman Jennifer? Why didn't you tell me?" Emily looked saddened at the thought of JJ not telling her something so important.

The blue eyed beauty laced Emily's fingers with her own and looked at her lap. Emily asked her the same question again, 'who is she Jennifer?'.

How was she meant to tell the brunette, that this amazing woman,who she is pretty sure she's in love with, is the one and only Emily Prentiss.

"I'm going to tell you something. And I'm hoping you don't freak the fuck out on me" JJ sighed "I was talking to Penn the other day.. about this woman I met a while ago, we're friends and close ones to be honest. I just can't help that when I see her , I get butterflies , she makes me smile so much and she's amazing with Henry" Emily listened closely to how JJ described this woman, wishing that it was her that JJ was describing but JJ would never think of her like that.

"Who is she then jen?" The older woman asked softly rubbing her thumb over the back of jjs hand.

"I..it - its you, Emily, and I know that we're best friends and this is going to make it so awkward because how could you ever feel-" that was it Emily had definitely had enough of jjs rambling and decided the only way she was going to show JJ that she felt the same was to kiss her.

Without any notice Emily leant in a placed a slow, loving kiss on Jennifer's lips, one which was returned by the blonde.

They pulled apart, foreheads pressed together.

"Really?" JJ asked soft and breathlessly with a smile.
