Lightningshard's Anguish

My eyes burst into a rainbow of colors. It had happened. It was done. Chrysalis's figure was blasted off to the stratosphere. My friends, goodbye.

Chapter 1: Late

A few hours earlier

POV Lightningshard

"Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!"

I woke up to my sister, Stormcloud, screaming into my ear.

"Ouch! What the fuck, Stormcloud?!"

I sat up, and my sister, a blue pegasus mare with a grey and black mane, recoiled in disgust.

"Well, Lightningshard, I was trying to help you get up. Do you realize what time it is? You're late for your date with Rainbow Dash!"

"Shit!" I exclaimed. My sister grimaced again.

"And don't you use that language in front of your big sister, young colt!"

She stormed out of my room, literally. I rolled my eyes. This is the shit I take every day of my life with Stormcloud. But I can't linger on that now; I was late for a date with the pony of my dreams.

She was waiting for me at Sugarcube Corner. My face grew warm, and I had a feeling I had a huge blush across my face.

"Sorry I'm late..." I said as my ears lowered a bit.

"It's ok. I just arrived myself. I overslept. You?"

"Me too."

We got our food, and flew to a nearby hill. Our eyes met for a second, then we looked away. I blushed furiously. I had a feeling she did, too. The sun was just at it's peak, and it's warmth beat down on us. We ate in silence for a few minutes. I tried an icebreaker after a while.

"So... how's it going with that trick you are working on?"

"Oh, so great. I perfected the cloud spinning move. Do you want to see it?" "Sure!" I exclaimed.

She performed her trick. So graceful, beautiful, elegant. And she liked me, too. She landed on the ground next to me. "So, how was it? Did you like it?"

"It was awesome!" Our eyes met again, but this time we didn't look away. She leaned in, and I did the same.

Then it happened.
