Fears In The Night

Each turtle has their own fears and each comforts a certain brother. In this story see how the turtles face their fears in the night and how they need their brothers more than they will ever realise! Rated T for safety.

Prologue

Unknown to the four terrapin brothers, Master Splinter had spent many nights listening to the goings-on between the siblings. He more than anyone was aware of his son's sufferings of the night, how Michelangelo would wake up in tears because he was certain some alien or monster was living under his bed; how Donatello would sniffle so not to alert the others to his fear of being rejected for his intelligence; how Raphael would pace his room in frustration and in horror that in his dreams he was never good enough and his rage killed all he loved. Then there was Leonardo. The eldest, ever since becoming leader, had been haunted by the unbearable pressures his role brought on. Splinter was well aware of the way the blue masked turtle would wake screaming his brothers' names and how he would run to each room to check everyone was alive and well.

At first, the rat would get up individually to tend to his frightened sons, but soon enough he began to sense he was not alone. Whenever he tended to Michelangelo's fears, Donatello would be standing at the side-lines, and when he went to Donatello, Leonardo would often be there already. With Raphael, Michelangelo would be calming his older brother down and when Leonardo woke up, Raphael was by his side in an instant.

Each of his sons was capable of helping one other specifically and ensuring their peace of mind, and it was when Splinter realised this, he decided to leave the comforting to the boys. It always brought a small smile to his face when deep in the night, he heard his children moving from their own rooms to another to calm their brother's fears. It became a rarity for them to come to Splinter, but in all honesty, the ninja master did not mind. When his boys grew older they would need the support of one another and what better way to achieve this then showing their deepest fears?

But he would never be able to forget the first night he overheard his sons comforting one another…

Just a quicky intro, I will add a chapter based on each turtle's fears and how they are comforted!
