There's nothing. Silence fills the small, dark, room, which she has been trapped in. As she pants and tries to find a way out she stops mid-stride. A noise. A small click, or can it be something else, something insignificant? She can't tell any more what it is or where it is coming from but fear is now creeping up inside filling every muscle, every bone, ever corner of her mind. "No please, don't let it be that." She clamps her eyes shut as if to block out a blinding light that has entered the room but all is still dark, more so it seems than what is was before, so she thinks.
She wishes she could run to find a means of escape but she knows she cannot do that. She knows she cannot run away or give up but stand in the dark and wait. Click. Click. Click. She fears that whoever has her hear will hear her heart beating faster and faster. CLICK. Everything is silent once again. She opens her eyes to see a small light coming in from the outside. A small flicker of hope perhaps. A way of escape she possibly out of this ominous place. "It must be a light in the hall" she thinks. She slowly makes her way to the door, ever so quietly. "heh". She stops. Chills appear instantly all over her body. " It's here, in this room." She whispers.....
A hand reaches for her shoulder and finds it. She stiffens as she realizes how cold and strong the hand feels. A raspy, hollow voice says, "Hello Sloan." With one last breath she screams and erects herself in a sitting position. A cold sweat had broken out all over her body. She turns on the light on her side table. She knew what it meant. That nightmare had come before. She recalled all the countless times she has had it through her 20 years of life. Fear was upon her again. She had to face it, no more running away. As she laid back down she made a call. "Hello" a voice says. "Hi, its Sloan." ....
"Hey Sloan, everything ok?"....
"Yeah I just needed to tell you something." Her voice shakes....
"At 2:30 in the morning?"....
"Yeah, I'm sorry it's so late", her heart beats faster.....
"You're fine, what do you need to tell me?"....
"I……I….I love you.". and with that she hangs up the phone. Knowing she had concured that fear of not showing how she felt she knew her dreams would not wake her again. All that was left was for the love of her life to answer back with the same words. But she knew that was another fear for another day.
