Hikaru sat on the couch next to Kaoru in their huge living room. Kaoru turned to look at him, "What?" he asked curiously. Hikaru was scribbling away at his homework, but he had thrown his pencil down, frustrated. "I just don't get English…" He never had been the brightest at words. Kaoru giggled at him and Hikaru looked up at him, "What?" he asked, wondering what was so funny about it.

"I'm sorry," Kaoru said, sitting up and leaning toward his brother, "You're just so cute." Their faces were almost touching now, and Hikaru was hypnotized in his twin's eyes, so close to his… Both sat silently for a moment until Kaoru leaned away again, blushing slightly.

He had never had the guts to admit that their "acting" for the ladies was more than an act to him…

Little did he know, Hikaru was hiding the same thing.

They sat still for another moment, both of them blushing and trying to look away from each other. It had gotten so bad lately that they did this every time they got close to each other. Something had to be said. And Kaoru knew that there was no way in hell Hikaru would ever say anything—he was clueless in that area.

So Kaoru scooted back over to lean his head on Hikaru's shoulder. Hikaru looked down at him, and then nudged his head up against his brother's. Slowly, he lifted his hand to caress Kaoru's cheek, and Kaoru closed his eyes, his breath catching as he tried to suppress a moan.

"Hikaru…" Kaoru finally whispered hoarsely, his hand coming up to catch Hikaru's, still on his face. "Why do we do this?" he asked sincerely, looking up at Hikaru, his eyes big and questioning.

Hikaru paused, looking a little caught off guard for a moment, as if realizing for the first time that they ever did anything unusual… But then he understood. He looked down and pulled his hand away. "I don't know… Kaoru."

"I thought… we were only putting on an act for the ladies," Kaoru pointed out, "But… we do this a lot… don't we? Act this way, even when no one's around…"

Hikaru nodded slightly. "I suppose… we do…"

They were both struggling for words, reluctant to speak, not sure how to handle such a tender subject. As close as they were—after all, they were not just brothers, but twins, and to them the world had only ever had one meaning: each other—it was hard to admit that there was anything more complicated to their relationship.

After a long silence, neither sure what to say or do, Kaoru finally said, "We're not just… getting into character when we're alone, are we…? In fact… we're never just playing the part at all…"

Hikaru nodded slowly again, knowing his brother was right, and knowing where it was going. "So… You feel the same then?" He was always so frank and simple. He just wanted to say it straight, to make sure he understood once and for all.

"Yeah…" Kaoru paused and then looked up very tenderly into Hikaru's eyes. "I… I love you, Hikaru… more than a brother."

Hikaru looked as if he didn't know what to say at first. "Oh Kaoru… I love you too…" He pulled his brother tightly to him as Kaoru kissed his neck gently, again and again, his lips traveling up Hikaru's collarbone to his ear. Hikaru groaned quietly.

This was the way they had always acted for the Club… But it felt so different now. Now that they both knew it was real. Kaoru looked up into Hikaru's eyes, as a small smirk played across his face. "Let's go to our room. There's still one thing we haven't done…" he murmured seductively.

Hikaru grinned back at Kaoru, and then lifted his brother into his arms, carrying him into their room and tossing him onto their bed.

"I'm going to make you mine…" Hikaru breathed, already on top of Kaoru.

"I already am yours…" Kaoru breathed back.
