It was a peaceful evening in the Fire Nation as the royal family and the prince's fiancé were having a very important dinner with an admiral and his family. Everyone was enjoying the wine and conversations amongst themselves. It was quite nice, well, it was.
Katara stormed out of the banquet hall in a great huff, slamming the door behind her. As she shuffled down the hall, she almost fell thanks to her long elegant gown. She heard someone follow after her. Knowing who it was and what they were going to do and say, Katara quickened her pace.
Zuko, already angry at Katara for ruining this important dinner, reached out and grabbed her wrist. With his hand tightly grasped around her wrist, he spun her around so that she was facing him.
"I can't believe you!" Zuko started. "You ruined that very important dinner! Why? Why would you do that?"
"It's not like I meant to," she replied.
"You're so stupid! You're useless and you can't do anything right! You're difficult and hard to please! You're forever changing your mind! You're a mess in a dress," Katara slowly looked down at her dress that was slightly ripped at the bottom. "That can't show up on time, even if it would save your life!" Zuko yelled.
"Yeah, well, that's just according to you. And I would expect that much from you, anyways. There's someone who loved me for the better things, but you can't seem to get past those!"
"Who, then?"
"Aang! According to him, I'm beautiful and incredible. He couldn't get me out of his head. Everything's opposite with you, though! He was into me for everything. You're not, but that's just according to him," Katara smarted off with a smirk on her face.
"You're boring, moody, and I can't take you any place! You suck at telling jokes, because you always give it away! You're the girl with the worst attention span."
"And you're the boy who puts up with it," she shoved back. "But that's all according to you. According to him, I'm funny. I'm irresistible and everything he ever wanted, but everything has to be opposite with you! He was into me for everything you're not."
"Katara, I do think you're all that, but-" Zuko started to say.
"But what, Zuko? I need to feel appreciated and not hated. Why can't you see me through his eyes? If this marriage is going to work out, then you need to accept me for who I am, or not at all."
"I do, Katara. I really do. I do think you're funny and you're defiantly everything I ever wanted. I can't get you out of my head. You are beautiful and irresistible. Nothing is opposite with me. I'm into you for everything," Zuko said trying to persuade her. "And Aang's dead, Katara. I'm all you have left, so you can't keep comparing me to him!"
Katara cringed away. She wasn't ready for Zuko to make such a drastic comment.
"You know," she turned around. "according to me, you're stupid and useless, and you can't do anything right." Katara started walk away to retire to her bedroom for the night. As she started to disappear from Zuko's sight, he started to wonder why he even said anything at all.
