What You Said Came True
by: Tamera "Tamie" Kwist
Oh, Lord Jesus.
It's just like you told me it would be.
And why did I expect it to be any different?
A prophet is not welcome in his or her home town.
Rejoice when the naysayers mock me,
for great is my reward in heaven.
Still you want me to keep speaking.
You give me the courage to stand tall.
For this I am grateful.
Lord, I could not do this,
if I did not have you.
But I can do anything by your spirit,
if it is your will.
When these people hate me,
I must remind myself that they first hated you.
They nailed you to a cross.
And what had you done?
Did you break a single law?
No. They hated you because you spoke the truth.
You said you were God.
You healed on the Sabbath.
You ate meals with (gulp) sinners.
You gave mercy to the weak.
You forgave sins?
Who can forgive sins, but God alone.
Yes, you are God..
Yes I will praise you.
Yes I am yours.
For I was created to bring glory and honor
to your name.
And I shall forever be your servant.
Jesus is Lord.
Amen!
