Long before time began, the world was ruled by shapeless blue organisms called dreams.
The world was vast and the dreams flew around, ignoring each other until two dreams fell in love.
A baby was born. A beautiful gender neutral baby. It laughed and the laugh broke into thousand fragments. These fragments were the fairies.
The dreams all huddled together, scared of these new creatures. The fairies tried to make their homes in the dreams but the dreams fought back. And so the baby made a new dream. It dreamt of a beautiful land for the fairies to live. It dreamt of water, sparkling water of different colours flowing – water which was tinted with a million little dreams. It dreamt of a tree under which people could be killed. It dreamt of jealous creatures whose upper bodies looked like a human but who had long beautiful tails that swished around in the water. It dreamt of beauty and violence. It was a beautiful dream. It was a nightmare. And it was named Neverland.
