Paper cup slipping from nerveless fingers at the obscenely terrifying sight of his father's motionless body on the hospital floor.
The way the smell of coffee started to turn his stomach after a hundred Tuesday mornings in Broward County's favourite diner.
It had been a while before Sam could face another cup.
