Undiscovered Love.(or is it?)
Gaara was busy with his paperwork for the chunnin exams; Sakura was at the Sand Village for a while after her recent mission that guided her towards the sand village.
Sakura had always thought of Gaara as someone who just needs more experience with friends and love. Love was an obvious subject that Gaara still didn't understand all that much.
Sakura secretly wanted to help him out by showing her affection for him. 'Oh what am I thinking...?' Sakura thought to herself as she unpacked her suitcase for her temporary stay at the sand village. 'He wouldn't be interested anyway... or maybe. .' her voice trailed off... 'I give up' she thought... 'This is pointless, I should just leave and—'all of a sudden, as if right on cue, Gaara entered the room. "Hi Sakura-Chan, your almost finished packing, yes?" he asked. "Y-..Yes..." she replied back obviously embarrassed as to his "wonderful" timing. "Hey, Gaara?" Sakura asked with all the confidence she gathered within her. "Would you like to..Um go out for some dumplings and soy sauce?" Gaara blinked as if he was about to fall over laughing. But of course, instead he smiled. "Sorry Sakura-Chan I have so much paperwork to fill out for the Chunnin Exams I don't have much time for dating..." he trailed off…" But maybe some other time okay?" he assured her. 'Oh my gosh!' she thought to herself… she felt sick to her stomach and embarrassed for even asking in the first place. "Okay" she said "G' night." She yelled after him as he slowly walked away.
"Dangit..." Gaara muttered to himself on his way to bed. That night, neither of them could sleep.
The next morning Sakura found herself sprawled on the floor of the Kazekages bedroom, and woke up to see Gaara sleeping soundly right beside her. "wha?-" she started… but then froze as Gaara stirred and opened his eyes to stare right into the eyes of his true love.. no not his sand gourd, SAKURA! Idiots..
"umm" he began. Sakura stared him down to the point where he didn't know what to say. Gaara "I know that you like me okay?" he said. Sakura hid a smile as best
she could.
"but.." he continued. 'oh no' Sakura thought.
" I like you too." He finished with a smile.
Sakura's mouth dropped open as if to hit the ground. "You like me?"
"Well I think I love you, I mean every time I'm around you I feel so good inside, like nothing can go wrong, my only guess is.." he paused.. "What?" Sakura purred softly to lead him to the finish line. "Love" he replied.
Sakura smiled widely and hugged Gaara so tightly that she heard him gasp for air. "I love you too Gaara." She said softly. They broke apart and stared at each other for what felt like hours to the couple. "Will you be my girlfriend Sakura Haruno?" Gaara asked. "Of course you dimwit" she smiled and Gaara returned a loving smile that she always longed to see. Gaara leaned in first to give his TRUE love a sign of affection. Sakura leaned in, and as their lips touched, that was the mark of a forever lasting relationship of the Red Cherry Blossom and her fellow demon flower comrade, who finally found love.
