Inuyasha sat up in a tree, alone, once again. Everyone else was asleep, and he had taken the opportunity to get away from everything and just think. No perverted monk, no upset demon hunter, no shrimpy little demon that needs to be killed, and no Kagome....
There was a slight breeze that blew Inuyasha's silvery hair away from his serious face. He had so much to think about.....
Another turning point a fork stuck in the road

True, at first, Inuyasha had only cared about getting the Jewel of the Four Souls...But now...There was something else in it. As time went on, he knew...He knew that Kagome wasn't Kikyo, and that he had feelings for her......
"What am I doing?" he asked the sky. "Why am I falling for another human?"
He folded his arms and looked off into the distance. He could still see the fire burning and Kagome's body next to the flames. A lump rose in his throat.
"Is it really worth getting stuck to a tree again?" he demanded. "I know she'll do the same thing as Kikyo did!!"
Inuyasha looked back over to the fire where Kagome was still sleeping.
"I wonder if she even likes it here...."

Kagome stirred in her sleep, then sat up. She looked around, half-expecting Inuyasha to call her an idiot for getting up when she didn't have to...But the dog demon wasn't around.
"Why would he want to stay with me?" Kagome thought as she drew her knees to her chest. "I'm nothing special....."
She sighed, then looked at Miroku who was "standing guard." Miroku seemed to notice that something was wrong with Kagome.
"Is something wrong, fair Kagome?" he asked.
"It's just...I love it here, with Inuyasha, when he's being nice...But he seems to hate me enough to go away every night..."
So take the photographs and still frames in your mind

For what it's worth it was worth all the while
"Inuyasha's just a demon...he's not sure what he wants," Miroku assured. "It has nothing to do with you, fair Kagome."
Kagome sighed.
"Then why do I feel like all of this is my fault?"

"I have to clear my mind," he told himself. "I can't let Kagome see me like this!"

It was now Sango's turn to wake up and notice Kagome's depression.
"Kagome, what's wrong?" Sango asked.
"Nothing, I was just thinking about Inuyasha," Kagome answered.
Sango grinned.
"Love makes people think crazy things!"
Normally, Kagome would have told Sango that she wasn't in love, but this time, she couldn't......

Inuyasha came back to the camp, to find everyone awake. He looked at Kagome and felt a jerk in his stomach. Kagome felt about the same. Neither spoke, just watched each other.
