Nightmares
They always gave her a scare
When everyone else had sweet dreams
All she had were screams
And crying endlessly in the night
With eyes wide open till mornings light
As she tries to muffle her cries
Everyone else would wonder why
Why such a normal girl would wake up screaming
When the rest of the time she was beaming
All of her dreams promised to rue
What's a normal girl to do?
They took her to the doctor, "what's wrong with her?"
He said "nothing but bad things are starting to stir"
Her dreams held monsters who would smile
They told her "we can wait for a while"
Nowhere is safe for her anymore
Because her mind's where the pictures are stored
But she has to act normal for her family's sake
Even though she never wants to wake
Because if you were her what would you do
If all your nightmares began to come true
