Justin Russo had read a lot of books in his life, both fiction and nonfiction. But he had never read anything that could possibly help him with this. After all, he sincerely doubted there was a book titled "How to Fall Out of Love With Your Sister in 10 Easy Steps".
Yes, it's true. Justin Vincenze Peppe Russo was in love with his sister, Alex Russo.
And that disturbed him very, very much.
But really, though, everyone knew to some degree that Justin's love for Alex went beyond that of other siblings. Looking back, Justin realized he and Alex were always pretty close. They were siblings and best friends, in a competitive sort of way.
But it was always there.
Somewhere, in between playing dress-up, and learning how to read, and getting their wands, and the late-night magic carpet rides, Justin realized what he felt for Alex definitely wasn't normal. When your were four, it was cute to want to marry your sister. But when you were sixteen, it had a name. It was called incest.
Incest, six letters. Sister, also six. In love, six. Family, six. Sinful, six. Pained, six. Mental, six. It seemed to Justin that all the words and phrases that hurt him most contained six letters. He really needed to stay away from the number six.

Alex plopped down gently on her bed. She didn't even have enough energy for a dramatic cry of "Ugh! This was the worst day ever!" Hell, she barely had enough in her to keep breathing.
"So…damn…tired. Worst…fucking…day…ever. Never…again." It was no wonder why Alex was tired. She actually tried studying for a test on Thursday!
Of course, most normal people study because a high grade gives them some sort of power, like getting into a good college or not being nagged by annoying overprotective parents. But then again, when did Alex ever fall under the category of "most people"?
No, she wasn't studying for something, but rather, someone.
Now, Alex Russo would never admit this to anyone, maybe even Harper, but she was deeply, desperately in love.
He stirred…feelings in her, feelings she never imagined she could feel. Of course, she would never say anything nearly that cheesy out loud. Even less so considering just who stirred these emotions in her.
Only one word could sum up how she felt right now. Gone.
