"Goodnight Dad, I am going to bed now," Veronica said quietly to her dad as he was pondering over a mysterious case. Her father didn't look up and merely said "night". He still hadn't forgiven her for helping Duncan take Meg's baby; she wished there had been a way she could have done it without lying to her father. But there wasn't, and now she just had to find a way to win back his trust. She wandered into her room and lay down on her bed and was soon fast asleep.

"Veronica, VERONICA!!" Somebody was shaking her awake. She sat straight up, "Hello?" Nobody answered for a few seconds, but then the image of Lily came floating up to her. "Lil?" Veronica questioned. "Hi, Veronica, watcha up to?" A ghostly image of Lily asked her. "This is strange," Veronica muttered. "No what is strange is the fact that you are letting a crime unravel RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE, THINK ABOUT IT VERONICA," The ghost-Lily suddenly acted desperate. "Please Veronica; Thumper is going to be dead if you don't do anything about this." "Since when do you care about Thumper Lily?" Veronica asked. "I don't and I even know that he has committed a terrible crime, but …" "But?" The Fitzgerald's are going to kill Thumper and make it look like Weevil did it; Weevil is a good person Veronica. The way he cared about how Felix died shows that he is good … underneath," "I know that," Veronica said quietly. "But how do I know this isn't a dream, Lily?" It is a dream, but you need to start trusting your dreams … trust your dreams Veronica … trust your dreams Veronica … trust your dreams …" The room started to spin and swirl and turn and then it was gone. She woke up with a start, "Lily, Lil?" But nobody answered.

That day at school she searched desperately for Thumper, and found him stealing some freshman's lunch. "So it hasn't happened yet, if it is going to happen at all," She said aloud as she started to wonder if she was crazy, but for some reason she trusted this dream, she was going to make sure Thumper didn't die somehow.

"What hasn't happened yet?" Wallace asked.

"Oh, you know the usual, the spark of my brilliance – today school, tomorrow world domination!" Veronica said sarcastically.

"Someone's in a grumpy mood," Wallace said.

Veronica rolled her eyes and went on about her day, she realised that unless she had another dream she wouldn't be able to find out if anything was going to happen. Lily didn't say when this was going to occur. Veronica came home from school and did her homework and then went to bed. She took a deep breath, lay down and fell asleep after a few minutes. The next morning she woke up with a start, she knew who was going to be killed-Thumper and how they were going to do it, so now the mystery was beginning to unravel.

Authors note:

So we know it is Thumper who is going to be killed, but who is going to kill him … and why? This storyline has nothing to do with what really happens on Veronica Mars.
