Listen To the Rain
Snow sniffled as she stared at the rose in her hands. The events that occurred not just moments ago played in her mind.
"Oh Vlad that's so sweet! It's beautiful." She exclaimed brightly as he handed her a beautiful crimson rose. He shook his head. The rain poured heavily above then.
"That's not the gift, Snow. This is." She gasped lightly as he grabbed her shoulder forcibly. 'He's never done that before.' She thought vaguely, as she stood there letting him do as she pleased. She trusted him like that. He closed his mouth on her porcelain neck. She smiled faintly at the familiar sensation and closed her eyes. The thunder roared above them. She felt his fall with the rain. Suddenly her eyes widened in realization. He wasn't feeding from her, he was…letting her go? Tears rushed to her brown eyes, he suddenly let her go and caught her as she fell. She felt as if all the energy was suddenly drained from her. Whether it was from him releasing her as his drudge or from him in general. He gently placed her on the wet ground, pressing a chaste kiss to her forehead. She looked up at him tears flowing like a waterfall. The rain raged fiercely.
"Good bye Snow. You deserve to have someone who loves you, who really loves you. Not a monster like me." He then turned, and walked away not knowing this moment would be their last.
"Vlad!" She choked weakly. Hoping he'd hear her and come to his senses, running and catching her in his arms in a tight embrace, and kiss her passionately. Telling her he could never leave her, and loved her more than anything. But of course that didn't happen. She just sat there her heart pouring along with the rain.
She wiped her face with her arm. As she dried her long white hair. She sat on her bed, the rose sitting across the room on her desk. Taunting her. she glared at it hatefully. Roses were no longer a sign of love, only loneliness. She smiled faintly, as the rain hit the glass of her window. How appropriate. Everything seemed to fall back on pain. Snow turned away and looked up at the ceiling.
"He;s not a monster." She muttered bitterly, stubbornly crossing her arms. Obviously annoyed at the though. Snow sighed and flopped over, her hair sprawling around her like a blanket. She yawned, as sleep consumed her. She found herself in a dream, and dreamed of a world where nothing could hurt her. Pain was no longer existent. Her abusive father was gone, people like that girl Meredith didn't exist. Just her, and her vampire. Together forever nothing to tear them apart. Nothing but them and the falling rain.
The rain is magical, if you listen to it right it will whisper stories, the rain gives the earth a drink and washes my sins away... I'm born again in the rain...
