Watching - a Sasuke Uchiha Drabble
Watching from afar was all (y/n) could do, after all she was completely and utterly out of his league.
Watching the constant horde of screaming fangirls following him day in, day out – so much so that they began to seem like a second shadow.
Watching him as he relaxed casually in class talking to his blond idiot of a best friend; and yet he still got the best grades in the year. She, on the other hand, sat by the window on the back row all by herself, often gazing longingly out the window at the single sakura tree in the courtyard, watching the breeze carry the petals far into the sky as free as can be.
Watching as he makes the championship winning home run and is promptly bombarded with congratulations by everyone within a half-mile radius. The roaring of the crowd crescendos to a deafening pitch obliterating her own weak cheers of congratulations.
Watching as the head cheerleader saunters up to him and starts gushing out praise about how amazing he played; all the while clinging to his arm with no intention of letting the star of the moment go. As the crowd on the stands rush onto the pitch she is carelessly pushed and pulled this way and that - like a ship tossed upon a stormy sea. Until she finds herself standing in the shadows at the edge of the pitch, watching as the celebrations continued (not even 15 yards away) and yet she couldn't help but feel the distance was much, much further.
"Watching you from a distance is the only thing I can do because getting you to realise I exist is impossible, right Sasuke?"
