Young Crona was one to be sympathized with.
She was not taller than 4 feet. Her weakly-framed body looked like it was ready to crumble any moment. It has been 3 days since and her body was thirsting for nutrients. Yet, her mother pressed on.
"Do it." It was an absolute command.
"No more please..." Her eyes screamed for a halt in this.
Of course, she would not dare to voice that.
"You're a bad girl, and you need punishment." The heartless purple vector imprinted on the floor sent her flying back to the darkness.
She sniffed, she cried; she always yearned for her mother's love.
So simple, yet impossible.
Crona scratched the door perpetually. She knew.
She knew her partner was going to emerge and torment her till her next release.
She was tired. Very tired.
She faked a smile.
"Mother, I'll do it."
Five feet away, Medusa stopped in her track and headed back to the entrance.
There was light. Crona kept up her frontal smile; she was cracking inside.
The little creature trembled in front of the child.
She still gave no mercy. Cupping the rabbit in her hand, she plucked off its ears like feathers on birds. The rabbit was squeaking crazily in her little palms.
It's better not the hear your own screams.
Her fingers aimed directly at its eyes, fitting a finger each at the eye hole. They remained there for a few moments before she took them out, revealing slimy liquid of white and red on her fingers.
Don't cry.
Her sword formed in her right hand as she swiftly stabbed it in the animal's nose, crushing the skull in process. The struggling body finally ceased to move.
The motionless carcass lay limply on her left hand. She flexed her hand, making the corpse land on the ground. Her sword swung mercilessly and sliced it into half.
Play family with me.
Two quarters.
I'll be the mommy.
Many pieces.
It's time for dinner; we're having rabbit soup today.
She glanced at her hands, dripping of fresh blood.
"That's enough for today. You did well, Crona." Her mother never left her spot, only witnessing with interest at the sidelines.
She didn't stop her, neither did she encourage her. Nothing at all.
It was only a mere command.
Crona's upturned mouth dropped to a straight line.
She looked at the deed she had just committed. It was no longer recognizable.
The rabbit that once stood in that spot, cowering from her, had became uneven slices of meat and blood.
So fragile. Just like me.
A/N:
