As Emily's plan for revenge progresses, it would seem that Emily will finally find herself where she intended to be from the beginning. But, regardless of what Takeda might have told her, is trusting truly a weakness? And more importantly. Does she really want to be alone?
Hey guys :3 this is my first fanfic ever so be kind. Please review, it helps me keep going and improve what I'm working on. Just a forewarning, I have a major tendency for long-ish stories, so bear with me ;)
I do NOT own the rights to Revenge or it's wonderful characters
"How do you feel about a June wedding?"

As soon as those words came out of her mouth, the most unexpected though came into Emily's mind. Nolan. And now, two hours later, and once again alone, she still couldn't shake that thought. She had just promised him to put this whole thing on pause. The collateral damage was becoming too big. She told them they would re-assess the situation.
But hearing Daniel say that her father had raped Victoria was too much. I was all she could do not to flip. She wanted to rip the hairs out of that bitch's head one by one. She wanted to humiliate her, hurt her, make her suffer. How dare she do this. Her father loved her. And she... Well, she pretended very well to love him back. And now this? As if everything else hadn't been bad enough.
No, to hell with collateral damage. She would use Daniel as much as she could to hurt that psychopath. Nolan would just have to understand.
He would understand... Wouldn't he? It bugged her how much that even mattered. It was like, she spent so long trying to get rid of him, but when she finally found a way, she found herself holding on. Again and again she had done things way beyond Nolan's tolerance and he still helped her. She put him in danger more than once, and she used him without a care, and he was still there beside her.
All he wanted was for her to be happy. She knew that deep down. She understood that all he did was try to get her to care, to find happiness away from the life she chose. He tried to get her to feel again. To give her what her father wished for her. But she couldn't. Like Takeda had said, she had to disconnect herself from her feelings. Caring would just get in the way of revenge.
Only, it would seem, it was too late. She cared alright. And about the most unexpected person possible. She cared about Nolan. When had that happened? Not so long ago he was nothing but a nuisance. A potential liability. When had she begun to care at all about what he thought? About having him around? Honestly, when they were sitting on the beach and he went to put his arm around her, she really had wanted him too. She told him not too because she couldn't let herself lean into him. It was too dangerous. She had to get a grip on herself. She didn't know what the hell she was feeling but it had to stop. She was on a mission.

Yet an hour later, driving, Emily had settled for friendship. She just wasn't used to having real friends who wanted nothing more than to help her. What had made Nolan so special in so short a time was just that. He had known her father and stood by him even when she no longer wouldn't. He was there waiting for her when she came out of juvie. He gave her the means to get to know her father, to learn what had happened to him, and to avenge him. And he stood by her to help her in any way he could. Friendship. That was it.
Or at least that's what she was telling herself by the time she came up to his door and knocked.
