A small five year old girl skipped down the cobblestone alley, it was her first time in England and her father had promised to buy her a pet. Maybe it was because her mamma ran away, she was scared of what her little girl became at the full moon.
The little girl was dressed in a pink skirt and light blue jeans, her black hair was put up in little spiky pig-tails. She was the picture of innocence.
"Daddy?" she asked, turned to the man that followed her, "Can I get a tiger?"
"Sweetie, I don't think-"
"Can I get a lion? Or a ferret? Horsey bird?"
"Yasmin-" he tried.
"Can I get a unicorn!"
"Yasmin!" she stopped jabbering, "Something small-"
"Pygmy dragon!"
"No. Something we can keep in the house. It has to be esay to feed and look after- and it has to be friendly." he said sternly.
Yasmin stopped in the middle of the street, "Birdy?" she window she had stopped in front of was filled with birds of many different shapes and sizes. She wanted one.
"I bird sounds good." he agreed, leading her by the hand into the shop. "OK, which one do you want?"
She skipped around the perches for a few minutes before stopped in front of a particularly low one, "That one. She's pretty."
The bird she was pointing to was a rainbow lorikeet, as she pointed to it it flew onto her finger and simply said, "Dance dance." while doing a little bobbing motion.
Yasmin giggled, "Pretty."
Her father came back from paying for it and crouched behind her, "Watcha gunna call her Yazzi?"
"Etoile."
"Star, what a pretty name for a pretty bird. Come on, lets go home." he said, putting the bird in a cage and lifting the small girl onto his shoulders.
The now 15 year old Yasmin concentrated and said a little louder than necessary, "Expecto Patronum!"
Out of her wand flew a bird that looked exactly like Etoile- but without the colours. It flew around the room shouting odd things like, "Dance dance!", "Omnomnomigon!" and "I like cheese!" A strange bird for a strange person, she laughed out loud at her thoughts.
"That's great Yasmin!" she heard Harry say behind her.
She began to look around the room for her best friend in the world, Rhea. She finally spotted her sitting against a wall staring wistfully at everyone's silvery animals. She was about to go over when she saw the twins muttering. They would know what to do.
She concentrated on practising the charm a little more. Soon she could do it with almost ease, but it would be worse with Dementors around.
Hearing screams she turned quickly with wand at the ready, a silver snake was weaving through the crowds. Rhea had finally made a patronus. The king cobra slithered over to Ron's dog, Rhea's patronus reared and exposed it's hood and Ron's dog vanished.
"Wicked." she heard the twins say before something disturbed to crowds once more.
