Another original Thomas story, this time it's "James and Thomas Work Together" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.
One morning, Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds.
"I have a special special waiting at Brendam Docks." he said. "However, I'm going to need two engines to collect it, and deliver it to the Sodor border."
Thomas knew that he would be chosen to collect the special special, as indeed he was.
"James is to help too," added in Sir Topham Hatt.
Thomas was excited, but James wasn't.
"Can't I work with Percy?" he asked.
"Sorry James, but you must work with Thomas today. Really useful engines never argue and do as they are told."
James was cross.
On the way to Brendam Docks, James would not stop talking about how he wanted to work with Percy.
"It's not fair!" James grumbled. "I want to work with my best friend Percy!"
"It's okay." replied his driver. "You'll just have to work with Thomas to help deliver the special special."
But James didn't want to work with Thomas at all.
Soon, the two arrived at Brendam Docks.
Cranky the Crane had just unloaded the special special, and workmen were loading boxes onto Thomas and James's flatbeds.
"I wonder what the special special is?" wondered Thomas.
"Don't know, don't care!" snapped James. "Let's just hurry so I can see my friend Percy again!"
Thomas and James set off towards the Sodor border.
Thomas and James rushed through the countryside.
Thomas was feeling happy, but James was cross.
"Why would Sir Topham Hatt choose me to work with you?" moaned James.
"Because you're a really useful engine!" said Thomas.
"But Percy is my best friend, and Sir Topham Hatt always assigns us work together!"
"Sometimes you have to work with different engines." explained Thomas. "We can't always work with our friends."
James thought about what Thomas had said, and for the first time all day, smiled.
"I agree!" said James. "Even though I rather work with Percy, it's great to work with you too Thomas."
Thomas was delighted.
Soon, the two arrived at the Sodor border.
The workmen unloaded the boxes from Thomas and James's flatbed, which were full of paint and rocks.
Then, the two set off back home.
Sir Topham Hatt met them at Knapford Station. He was very pleased.
"Good work you two! You are both really useful engines!"
"And I hope we can both work together sometime soon!" exclaimed James.
Thomas happily agreed!
