I looked at you like the stars that shine
In the sky,the pretty lights
11 year old,Lily Truscott,stood on the beach with her best friend,Joe Jonas."Bet I could beat you!"Joe said,staring down the beach.
"Bring it on!"Lily said.Joe crouched down to the sand,ready to run.Lily just stood there,waiting for the word 'go' to leave Joe's lips.
"Ready?GO!"Joe sprinted forward at the speed of sound,Lily on his tail.Joe continued to run and finally stopped at the end of the beach."Told ya'!"
"That's not fair!"Lily whined."You got a head start."
"May be true,but I still won."Joe said.
"Whatever."Lily said.She crossed her arms over her bright red tank top.She kicked the sand with her orange Converse.
"You ok?"Joe said,noticing the 'disappointment' in Lily's voice.
"I'm fine,Joe!"Lily said,smiling with her bright white teeth."Plus,I let you win!"
"Believe what you want,Lily Truscott!I will forever be the champion!"Joe said.Lily laughed shortly,walking over to Joe.
"I better go home.Bye."Lily said.Joe said nothing,but leaned in closer to Lily.He's been waiting for this moment since he met her.Lily blushed and tried not to giggle at his puckered lips.She finally relaxed and leaned in closer to Joe.She pulled away after 7 seconds."I-I g-gotta -g-go."she ran up the hill to her house,leaving Joe bright red on the beach.He finally got what he had been waiting for for 2 years!
"Thank you,God."Joe whispered."Thank you."
Take me back to the house in the backyard tree
