I love Rizzles. I heard they are going to have Frankie and Maura kiss in an upcoming episodeā¦.Spoiler! Anyway, I decided to write something because I love this show. (I heard Lee Thompson Young died and I wanted to send out my condolences. It was sad, but we don't know what happenedā¦He will be missed greatly). This is a song fic based off of Young and Beautiful by Lana Del Rey. I recommend it.
Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Will you still love me when I got nothing but my aching soul? I know you will, I know you will I know that you will.
With great difficulty, Jane lifted her body from the bed and proceeded to the washroom. Jane looked at herself in the mirror. Time hasn't done her much justice. She's known Maura, her wife, for fifteen years now. She was getting older now and how was she able to protect the city from crime. She looked at her temples, the grey hair on her temples stood out against her dark, luscious locks. Jane sighed. She looked at the crow's feet around her eyes and the deepening laugh lines. She has age spots on her arms and darker bags under her eyes. She was old. About forty seven. Could she still do her job? Should she give it up? She was still in great physical shape, but her aching back told her otherwise.
Maura watched from the doorway as Jane examined herself. Jane was one of those older women people wish they could age to be. But to Jane, she was growing ugly. Maura thought she was so beautiful. So majestic and lovely.
"Stop, Jane." Maura murmured. Jane looked at her in the mirror, defeat in her eyes. Maura came up behind the taller woman and hugged her. She rested her cheek in between the woman's shoulder blades. Jane leaned over the sink with a sob.
"Jane, you are gorgeous my love. You may see your crow's feet, but do you see the beautiful eyes that dragged me in all those years ago? You see your laugh lines, but do you see the dazzling smile? You see your age spots, but I see your sculpted arms and hands. You see the bags, but I see time you've spent protecting me, our daughter, and our city. Jane you aren't ugly. Far from ugly. I love you. I love you so much it hurts and I will always love you."
"Even if I am not young and beautiful?" Maura laughed.
"Even then. It's your soul I love Jane. It's the spark in the bedroom we still have." Jane laughed at Maura's joke.
"Lets go feed the munchkin and get to work." Maura murmured against her back. Jane squirmed a little because it tickled. Maura hummed causing Jane to giggle and thrash out of her grasp. She did a little jog out of the spacious bathroom and to the kitchen. Maura was hot on her heels.
Maybe Jane was young and beautiful still after all.
